what about the scammers that are not kids and use their own #'s?

 

Invocation was an SVU as the OP states, he scammed 6.5B RSGP (proof here 1. http://www.sythe.org/report-scammer-archive/1574197-invocation-scammed-me-4-5b.html and 2. http://www.sythe.org/report-scammer-archive/1574190-invocation-scammed-me-2b.html ). At that time, ~ worth $1700.

He's long gone yes, however his details should be released.

My question is, would his details be released to his victims? Publicly posted on Sythe? Or handed to staff members in hopes of them contacting him/parents demanding a refund?

Should be all three IMO.

 

Releasing personal information of an individuals whereabouts with an online alias, not "acknowledging" the other parties intentions will open yourself up to a nimiety of legal issues if the aforementioned pursues legal action. Which is imminent if harm is done to someone with information you've provided.

So how would this be done? Would you make a news post, or announcement stating the situation and including the scammers details? Aswell as having staff members contact the victims passing on the scammers details?

Like I said in my reply to Sythe, prehaps some sort of 'T&C's' where you have to agree with it being distributed, that, or no SVU.

 

What differs private details from public? You mentioned above that public included Name, paypal emails, suburb etc. So, private would be parents names, telephone #'s, school and such?

Would the staff look for more details using the SVU provided details as a foundation? So, finding more pertinent details of the scammer using what the SVU initially provided?

Holy... best thing I've ever read on this site. I hope that every user who was scammed gets the information of the SVU user who scammed them. This is great. Thank-you Dial for posting this thread.

Finally, I hope people become aware of this post.
As sellerman stated, people like invocation should have their details posted, at least then things can ACTUALLY be done to get the poor guys refund.

 

Can't breach privacy just cause there was a scam going on. Of course, we can file a police report, but they won't do shit. There's more important stuff to do. Basically, what it comes down to is....to make people feel more trusting of this community than before.

Donating to the site has nothing to do with being trustworthy. In fact, if I scammed a bunch of money i'd be much more likely to give it away than if I earned it legitimately.

The point of charging for SVU is to cover any costs associated with the feature. Besides, now that SVU actually means something(well sythe said it will at least) I would prefer it be kept low so more users would actually consider using it.

I still stand by said scammers information being made public throughout the forum, and having some sort of thread dedicated to SVU scammers information.
