While I do believe that releasing the info to scam victims is the right thing to do, I don't understand how that would benefit the victim.

How often will the scammer decide to give a full refund upon the victim contacting him? They scammed for a reason.

Also, I don't believe, (I could be mistaken) that law enforcement would take a Sythe scam report seriously, regardless of how much was lost. At the end of the day, this is an online forum, and police do not acknowledge the trustworthiness that certain users have obtained, (Admins, mods, donators.)

Idk, some people can use IRL info really well.
I remember a guy named spyke or something and with the very little info he had, he tracked the guys address, phone number and his parents phone number lol.
and he ended up getting whatever he paid for

    SVU is useless.

Not enough information is collected, and it isn't released without a subpoena? Even then that's a joke, like the police will go after a rsgp cyber scam. If its under $5000 they'll say sorry for your loss. If its over $5000 and a tangible item they might look into it.

It instills a false sense of trust, and the information is useless. If it helps get donations for the site, another incentive could be offered.

Edit: Read that it could be given out, but still. Has any SVU information EVER been released?

Yes, it has. I've collected SVU info on a few people who have scammed me (I believe I told you personally about one of the people - but also a few others). If you PM Matthew or Richard with a valid scam report link, they will give you the information.

Quite frankly it's useless, I think most if not all of us know that regardless of what info you give out most of us would NEVER have any issues.

I mean unless their planning to hack ur paypal/ddos you/threaten you I dont see the point.

Not to mention I would ACTUALLY argue, that someone buying svu is actually being told "If you scam sythe is not responsible for whatever happens to you" lol.

Can anyone actually think of a legit upside to this ?

How about... be smart and don't get scammed, don't buy things that are easily scammable. The end

I lold at this. How about scamquits?

A user you've traded with lots trades with you - you go first as always but this time you don't receive the items. How do you stop that happening?

You can't. But you are already breaking the game rules just by trading. So theres no sympathy anywhere. MOST scams can be avoided, it's true there are scam quits but that's more rare.

If you want to try to take legal action against someone over sythe, I don't see what prevents you from doing so. It's definitely not worth the time, stress, or money though. I think Honest Iago threatened legal action against leanbean but that came to nothing afaik (google for his ordeal).
