Scammers. How can we sort the site out / prevent

Release info sythe holds to the victims. encourage them to file police reports.

make it so when you sign up there is a confirmation button such as: I understand that if i Scam my information will be released to the victims. and forwarded to the appropriate people.

Or make it so that to sell in certain sections a user has to upload Photo I-D, Proof of Address, With his sythe name wrote next to it

there is LITTERALLY no punishment for scamming. Z_RING / isca is just gonna keep creating new sythe accounts and doing the same over and over again. like ALOT OF PEOPLE DO ON SYTHE. How about some sort of MAC-BAN from the site if you scam. or a ban which scammers cannot just use a new ip and come back to sythe.

 

Changing a MAC address is easier than changing an IP address.

How to prevent the most common scams: Don't go first to newly registered users.

Removing anonymity online will also detract new users from signing up. The best thing we can do is give tips on safe trading and hope users make the best decisions from there.

 

It's ultimately up to the user to protect themselves. On top of that, releasing information such as what you are suggesting is oftentimes too sensitive for the regular user.

people buy "Trust" on this site. and new people fall for it, i think account section mainly should be more strict. we cant let these scammers keep making there money on sythe.

You can't just blindly assume that. People know how dangerous the internet is and will take the utmost precautions when it comes to leaking such sensitive information on the web.

 

It is not the responsibility of Sythe to keep people safe and hang over the market and the community with a giant ban hammer, it is his responsibility to provide the safest trading area he can provide without damaging or influencing the market dramatically, that's why its a free market.

Mac bans are not possible and can easily be spoofed, IP bans also aren't possible to my knowledge and can be avoided even easier.

The solution to this is to do exactly whats being done, which is make it as difficult as possible to ban evade and get away with it, yes users can try to buy trust, but its the buyers/sellers responsibility to assure their conducting a safe trade with a safe trader.

I'm all for making it more difficult for people to ban evade, however a IPban/Mac ban isn't a viable solution.

No support to this particular suggestion, I'm of course supportive to the idea of making ban evasion/scamming harder to do on sythe though.

 

Glad to see @FlyingToast and iHQ were able to convince you of this. I agree with what's stated above btw. Can't successfully implement something like this and expect new users to ever join Sythe. I know I wouldn't
