The answer is definetly 1000g of water and 789g of pure ethanol

because 1000ml of water mixed with 1000ml of ethanol = 50% ABV.

1000ml of water = 1000g of water (Water is 1g/ml)

1000ml of ethanol = 789,24g of ethanol (Ethanol is 0,78924g/ml)

thus making the final solution: total mass of 1789.24g and 50% ABV

 

ye, US standard for 'Proof' is 2x ABV whereas UK standard is 1.75x ABV

1041,67 ml of water -> 1041,67g of water

and

1041,67 ml of alcohol -> 822.128g of alcohol

using densities given by le wikipedia (10/10 source) at 20 degrees C, even if liquids densities change by temperature, as long as temperature stays the same and 50% ABV does mean 1L water 1L ethanol to give a total of 2L solution, then just multiplying 1000 cm3 (1L) by the densities given in g/cm3 should give the mass of the 1L of water/ethanol, which one looking at currently. I know that water isn't exactly 1 g/cm3 and assuming 1 atm of pressure, since because I assume the person to be drinking on Earth above ground.


Been a long time since I've taken chem, so go easy on me if wrong lol. Also I'm unsure if I need to do any of those chemical formulas to check the output chemicals, except I believe ethanol is the hydrated of ethene and more water shouldnt change the chemical
