I completely agree and it’s a breath of fresh air. Thank you for everybody for stepping up in PR. You’re doing a great job. Keep it up.

 

After speaking to @Tyler on Discord, I have come up with a few suggestions that could be very useful for digital marketing and promotion of Sythe.

My full time job is digital marketing so I have a lot of experience in this field, and think it could be beneficial to Sythe, I hope this helps you @

1. First of all, there is no Facebook Pixel installed on the website, which means any traffic is not being captured and measured on Facebook. Facebook Pixel allows you to monitor traffic, and retarget those people on Facebook with custom ads. You can create "goals" such as visit the website for 10 minutes, complete registration, donate, and so on. This is the bare minimum that should be implemented. I know I have a DNT, but if an admin or staff want to have a discord call, I can show them how to do everything over screenshare, including setting up a Facebook Business manager account.


2. Second, I think you should set up Google Analytics and install the tracking code on the website. Similiar to Facebook Pixel, this can be done via Google Tag Manager, or possibly be incorporated into the XenForo admin panel.

3. There are also a bunch of paid tools that could be useful for Sythe, such as ShopMsg. Which allows you to send facebook messages instantly and up to 48 hours after they complete a registration. An instant FB message could be something along the lines of "Welcome to Sythe! Did you know our community has a tournament being run at the moment to win $50?" etc. Edit: This could be potentially used as another form of revenue for Sythe, with a sponsor message placed in the initial FB msg. $1000 every 2 weeks not bad?

4. Exit Intent pop-ups. This comes as a little more annoying form of marketing, but simply copying and pasting some code from Github can allow you to create pop ups on the website whenever someone tries to navigate to exit. For example if someone has been on the website for 5 minutes and not registered, you could assume that they have considered signing up and maybe have the intent to sign up, but haven't done it. When they navigate to close the tab or exit the website, a pop up can appear saying "Sign up to Sythe today, the process only takes 30 seconds" or something along those lines.

5. The process of signing up. Obviously Sythe gets a shit ton of traffic, but actually converting that traffic into registrations is the hard part. Some people find that signing up to a website is an annoying and long process, any steps that can be taken to reduce waiting time or the ease of the process by incorporating all of the steps into one page could be very useful.

Just some updates.

The following ranks are hyperlinked and if you click will send you to their threads

• OMM ranks send you to their OMM thread
• PR and CDT ranks send you to their their feedback threads or application threads
• Staff ranks link you to their feedback threads (having some issues with sectional ranks)

We have updated the forum node icons for the website. Some of these were not approved so they are not ALL done yet, but most are.

We have updated 8 stickies around the website, with more to come.

And most importantly we are trying to be there for new users, Helping out wherever needed and supporting them through their transition into becoming members.

 

Any thoughts on implementing the marketing aspect of the website that I gave?

 

This is beyond the scope of the decisions I'm allowed to make as PR leader so I have passed it along. Wether or not it would be used lies soley with Richard.
