PR - Who are we and what do we do?

'Our mission is to attract new users to the community. The way we try to do this is through mediums like social media or any off site advertising we can get. We try to attract the best people we can through teaming up with the CDT in events and giveaways.'

What PR has been up to:

June progress:

- Started activity on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook again
- Recovered and restarted PR streams on twitch
- Worked with TC for the introduction of the SytheScape RSPS
- Created custom images for every section of Sythe to advertise on our social media
- Fixed off-topic stickies
- Created templates for our various social media platforms

July progress so far:

- Continued advertising social media
- Planning some great giveaways which should be finalised very soon
- Updating stickies in every section and sub-forum of Sythe
- Scheduled streams on Twitch
- Picked up Reddit activity

What PR wants to do - plans for the coming months:

- Promote our upcoming giveaways - details to be announced soon
- Add more sections for popular games in the hope of bringing more variation to Sythe
- Changes to Dota 2 section upcoming
- Planning and designing new subforums for games such as H1Z1, PUBG, Survival games
- Continue working with TC to publish more SytheScape sneakpeaks
- Stream upcoming SytheScape tournaments
- Start signing off our social media posts with -*name* for a better person to person relationship with others on our social media
- Listing discord commands for the public
- Hosting Sythe Monthlys via YouTube
- Will be featured in a few 300k+ follower twitter accounts to pick up followers
- Brainstorming ideas for possible recruitment incentive other than a temporary referral mini/small amount of Sythe gold

Giveaways and updating stickies. What does that have to do with public relations? There is a terrible misconception about the directive of duties tied to PR that can be easily given/associated to the CDT. Focus more on communications through outside sources and let the CDT worry about on-site duties. Just seems like you guys are reaching for a purpose to exist. PR can't effectively co-exist with the CDT.

 

Let's clarify - Giveaways outside of Sythe on social media outlets/bringing members in through signups and sharing content.

Updating stickies - It has been an on-going attempt for the last few months but its not going anywhere and new members are looking at outdated things. Took the matter in my own hands along with some other PR members to update this and get rid of the eye sore out-of-date stickies that new members are reading

 

Make a more even spread of people who identify themself as PR and CDT on the Discord. Right now every PR member except for Vlad identifies as a CDT member (is categorized under CDT).

 

This sort of suggests otherwise. Also, what are the best people being talked about here? It's been proven that on-site events/giveaways do not attract new users, but instead provides a stimulant for the current users we have. If that wasn't the case, we'd see newly registered users participating.

Instead of taking matters into your own hands, you should be notifying the CDT. You're just overstepping your boundaries as PR.

It's ridiculous that most members of the CDT are also PR. Everything that PR is doing can be done by the CDT.

It's already been notified months ago with very slow to no results. Staff made it a community team effort hence why PR is involved.

I've seen previous suggestions of PR and CDT just merging as we overstep each other in duties at times; but honestly if things are getting done by both teams I don't see why the change is needed. Moving responsibilities to CDT from PR just adds onto the heavy load of things that is currently in the works in CDT (I'm also CDT).

The CDT handles on-site events/giveaways, no?

Do you not agree that the PR team should not be handling something the CDT should? Just seems like you're compromising the duties of CDT, while also confusing the directive of PR.

You just said the CDT isn't getting things done. If PR is merged with CDT, the members of PR would be on the CDT so I don't see how the workload is increased.

 

Actually, CDT and PR were given the sticky update through staff. PR team leaders volunteered to take over the task, which is quite a relief on CDT. Thanks for the feedback, and it will be taken into consideration.
