Life has no logical purpose

The only thing I can think of for the Logical purpose of life is human instinct which is the live. We live because it is programmed into us from the moment of conception. Our number 1 priority in life is to live. We can kill, get food, water, shelter and more to fulfill that goal.

Suicide contradicts this.

Because we are the highest beings we know of, our logic must have the ability to determine our own purpose. If there is a higher being hen the very existence of them will default our logic. But until then our ability to design our purpose is true.

.

most ego-centric thing i have ever read

seriously, we are just creatures with a larger cerebral cortex devoted to cognition.

we are not "higher beings"

jesus, go to any evolutionary biologist and try to tell them that humans are "higher beings"
they will laugh in your face

jesus, dolphins are just as smart as us it is guessed. do they know the meaning of life too?

PS
we are not higher beings, we are dominant beings who, in evolutionary terms, have only been around on this earth for a tiny blip of the total period it's been around.

As long as you die happy, your life will have been worthwhile. Searching for an ultimate purpose will get you nowhere.

idk about life, its a huge topic and i dont think it could ever be explained , but i have always thought what it would be like to never be born ? , like just nothingness ? a bunch of black or wat ha

Do you ever respond without sounding like an ass?

What the hell did you think I meant when I said higher being? I didn't mean gods if thats what you took from what I said, when I sad higher being I was implying we were the most advanced life form we knew of. Kind of like how a tiger is a higher being compared to idk...bugs.

I actually do, I talk with chemists, physicists, and biologists alike at the nearest colleges.
Surprisingly they haven't laughed yet, they actually help me fix my ideas to make them more scientifically correct if I'm off on a subject.

Go to any professional debater or hell even a lawyer and try supporting your side like you are now, I'm sure they would laugh in your face because well...you're quite bad at it.

Yes they are very intelligent (second to humans actually not on par.), however they are still just habitual and instinctual creatures. They probably had their own idea for what the meaning to life was, until humans trumped it.

P.S. Higher and dominant beings are the same thing, and at the moment thats us.

Thank you for your argument and...facts, but none of this really helped your side at all. All you did was spew a few ideas without thinking how easily it could be refuted.

I'm curious to see your answer to my previous post:
Existence is an all encompassing idea, life and death are held in this. Relate this to time, space and matter. Three different entities that are all intertwined with one another.
It's like this, matter is the medium here. Without matter space and time would be pointless they would be two planes on which nothing would happen because there is nothing to happen. Add matter and the purpose of these two planes comes into play.
Space-Matter-Time
This is how it plays out, space plays the first part it is the beginning, then comes matter bringing in the medium needed for both planes to interact, then when the interaction between space and matter happens, there arises time. (Used as the measuring tool between the space and matter entities)

The meaning of the beginning necessity is the end result. The meaning to both beginning and end entities are the resulting medium, and the meaning to the final entity is to be the end result.

So why can't it be seen like this:
Life-Existence-Death

The meaning to life is death, the meaning to existence is life and death.

Do you agree? If not I'd love to hear some ideas where it's flawed =]

Isn't giving yourself purpose like pretending to have a purpose?
It would be if a purpose didn't already exist, the idea of a purpose is there it's just we don't have the ability to fully understand and see what it is. I explained above my reasoning for saying the meaning to life is death and the meaning to existence is life and death.

So.. what happens when we die?
Noone knows, all we know is what will happen to your physical body and energy. Now whether or not your conscious stays is a hard one. It could just be that your consciousness is brought on by pure energy and once it's gone you will also dissipate. Quite a morbid realization to think about. Or there could also be another process that we don't know about that allows for you to keep that consciousness. It's unknown.

Last time I checked a person's consciousness was, in fact, his brain cells. With those gone, you're gone. Attempting to assign meaning to life is futile. There is none. But, is that really a problem? Once you're dead it won't bother you simply because you will cease to exist, and until then, just live your life and pursue your goals.

This article is partly right, although it did make me laugh at the end.

If the solar system were the size of a table, the Andromedae Galaxy would lie at 10 times the distance to the moon and the most distant galaxies would lie at 60 times the distance to the Sun
Last time I checked the Andromeda Galaxy was 2.5 million light years from earth...that's a hellllllllll of alot farther than 10 times the distance to the moon.

When you die you loose heat/energy --> it radiates into your surroundings.

It's not really futile considering if pondering this was meaningless then anything and everything is meaningless. I wasn't talking about an individual life, more life in general and existence. These have a purpose which I stated above

Well.. Life is energy, and energy can not be destroyed. Opinions on this?
It's converted. Basic science.

Trinity are you basically suggesting reincarnation?
No, well...yes and no depending on how you look at it. Reincarnation like how the hindu's believe? No. However technically reincarnation does happen, the energy in your body becomes another form of energy.

Like how light from the sun is converted into infrared, visible light, etc

can you really count that as the purpose of existence and not just the law of conservation of mass?

i did not interpret your post as saying they are gods or something.

i mean that, still your argument is species-centric, basing species dominance almost purely on intelligence.
in terms of mass, whales are the dominant species on earth.
in terms of speed, there are many faster animals
hell, various virus' are more dominant than we are in terms of numbers and reproduction.
i can go on and on.
we are only dominant in respect to the fact that we have covered the earth built many things on its surface, and we have a large cerebral cortex, but there are many ways in which we are inferior to other creatures on earth.

so to claim absolute dominance is foolish.

i think you forget some factors, death is not the only result of life. therefore, there are more possible reasons for life.
there are factors that are internal to the resulting medium between life and death, such as reproduction that could be the purpose of life. you could say that because reproduction and anything else you could do exists inside this resulting medium, the purpose of is ultimately attributed to this common factor.

also, when you say life do you mean birth or just being alive. i ask this because is being alive not existing? or what is the purpose of separating those.

please tell me if i went wrong somewhere in my interpretation
