CDT, TC, PR with horror maze

A lot of people on this forum have absolutely zero interest in Minecraft. This is a predominantly RuneScape forum so I'm surprised a Minecraft even was made over one on RuneScape. Regardless, I'm pretty busy and had planned to reluctantly do the Minecraft event today even though I despise Minecraft. After the last two Minecraft days were total disasters, the whole event should be scrapped, let alone discarded from the raffle. Anyways, that's just my opinion. I know CDT wants to salvage this Minecraft thing for some odd reason, but I don't see the point. The Pixelmon event wasn't that large of a success with only five active people playing on it so I'm not sure what prompted ANOTHER Minecraft event.

 

I just want to clarify that this event was @Buyacc 's idea and he's a member of the PR team not the CDT.

 

Well, there's your problem. @Buyacc absolutely loves Minecraft. He was the main player in the Pixelmon event as well.

It's like me making a League of Legends event since it's the only game I play if I were able to make a Sythe event.

IMO there's not a large enough interest in Minecraft to warrant an event for it.

In the end, I couldn't care less. I try my best to participate in every event on every holiday on Sythe. I just see this Minecraft event as a zero interest disaster that should be scrapped. But if not, it's not a big deal. No point in blowing this out of proportion.

 

After the first opening Sonia told me I shouldnt be involved in CDT events as I am PR. An event like the Maze which is clearly for the inner community is obviously end responsibility of CDT (= focus on inner community), I just think its funny how I am being hold end resposible every time even when people say I shouldnt be involved in CDT. Almost like they make up a standpoint when they see it fit. Also already said A LONG TIME ago that I wasnt going to be online this time (the second opening), that no one arranges someone else to step up isnt my fault as I am not the one hosting the event.

Besides that, what Mootrucks said is right. It is my idea. I suggested it in the CDT suggestion thread on Halloween events and made the Maze as no one else was clearly willing to do it. Everything else was being done by CDT the entire event was set up by CDT I was just the guy that made the Maze not the one that made the entire event.

 

It seems like we can describe this maze event as Buyaccs pet project, he clearly likes MineCraft a lot and wanted to share his passion with the community. It is just a shame that only a select few members (all outside of the CDT) had access to the server. I say we commend his effort. Thank you.

 

When the responses are "I dont know enough of Minecraft" or "Ask x he likes games maybe he is up for helping with Minecraft" or "I dont like Minecraft" it is hard to find people willing to help with doing stuff CDT should do. All quotes from CDT Members if you didnt already notice.

Hey guys.

Unfortunately as personally I'm not awake during the ET timezone I was unavailable to be around during the event.

I believe the reason there have been issues with the maze openings is due to the timezones and having developers, those who created, edited and who are in TC that are hosting gaming servers have been unavailable to open the maze at the times allocated. Yes it is no surprise that CDT members aren't fully aware of minecraft works/creation or how to actually host a gaming server.

The suggestion for the maze was brought to us by Buyacc, the suggestion accepted as it would be a collaborated event with the development teams. Providing everyone with an alternative gaming server as not everyone has a liking to the current style of CDT events. Buyacc and SuF taking lead as Buyacc stated he could create the maze etc; and SuF as a TC member to communicate better with in regards to gaming servers and the development of the event.

The timezones/timings of the three first openings were suggested and created by Buyacc. Although even if he had to be there for the events to open as only himself or SuF would know the path in the maze event, had not realised he would not have been available to edit the maze by the second opening or be there at the time he had suggested the event be open.

Working with cracked clients to access the maze event is also tedious as someone has to be available overseeing the event to stop cheating throughout the allocated times.

Unfortunately as it seems to have not worked out for the past two opening, we have discussed and have decided that participation of the Maze is not needed to be apart of the raffle.

The MC Maze of Horror will be open at the next available opportunity, and you can still participate in the event for cash prizes.

The final CDT Halloween event shall be out later today.

Really sorry for all those who were effected by the not opening of the maze last night.

Stop saying everything is my / SuF's fault. If CDT/TC suggests Tweets or Facebook posts I am end responsible for the Tweets or Facebook posts eventhough someone from CDT/TC could have suggested the Tweets or Facebook posts. Similar CDT is end responsible for inner community events, even when they were not the one suggesting it.

The event was a collaboration between all three development teams. Unfortunately we have all lacked in providing a working event; opened on time, max security available, gaming server for the community.

Hey man, relax, we know you are passionate about minecraft, but unfortunately it wasn't a very popular idea within the CDT. I really dig the fact you took it on as a pet project but it just didn't work out. Arguing on this thread does nothing to give the community faith in the community teams.

You mistake me, I am not trolling. I know you put a lot of time into the minecraft server and feel pretty bad that it hasn't worked out the way you wanted it to.

 

Again, from the posts in this thread the community should be able to draw enough conclusions for themself already. I already said and mentioned everything I wanted to say

 

I did IP ban the hackers and made it so that they couldn't do any more harm but there's a not more that could have been done while keeping it a cracked server other than making up a custom login thing which seemed like a lot of work for a one off event. There is also basically nothing can do to prevent cheaters like using minimaps or something.

 

Bear in mind this was the guy who only stayed in one area for the whole time in the maze afaik, you stayed in the whole left side, nowhere near the end, whilst raging how shitty this event was.

I actually won a minirank too. As did three others. They all were claimed on the first day. Meaning at the end of the day... It was successful? I wasted 2.5 hours last night waiting for the CDT or PR to open up the doors, you didn't, sure i'm ok with it now since it was just a lack of communication, but you're seriously raging while the event was still going on. AT the very least, you could have done it, but you at the end were the rager, who rage quitted the event.
