[POLL] CDT/PR/TC - Usergroup colours/markups

I like the idea of using a poll for this @sellerman. When it comes to personal preference sometimes justification or further explanation isn't required to get a point across. Imagine we made a poll to ask what everyone's favorite flavor is. If the most voted flavor is BBQ, it wouldn't matter if anyone tried to convince the majority that Sweet and sour was better (however im sure people still would). People vote the way they vote because that's how they naturally feel. Maybe my comparison is a bit blown out of proportion but I feel like there's some sense to it.

If the poll result numbers were closer than they are then a discussion on it would make more sense, however by the looks of the direction of this poll..the numbers speak for what the people want without further explanation required.

Every time feedback is given to the forum in general you say "make a poll". A poll has been made in this case and the community has spoken, revert the changes.

 

Thats the active community for you.

 

Users online does not reflect active users who give two shits about the community outside of the market. Considering how the results currently turned out, it would only be a trend leading upwards in favor of a revert.

 

Most active community members have voted on this poll. I doubt you're going to see market-only users/one off traders come and vote, let alone venture into this forum section.

I'd be confident in saying that all parties whom care/are involved/it effects, have made their views evident, by said poll.

Ultimately, the sentiment is towards reversion - the onus rests upon you/the staff team to adhere to the poll.

 

The reasoning against the change is posted within this thread. It's not that we (I) don't like change/want change/or always disagree with change, it's just this change isn't well suited for this forum.

Re, 'loud minority', I feel that's unjustified, considering anyone can vote, and it's anonymous. I made this thread as it was suggested by Shin and yourself.

I'm fine with waiting. No issues here - this change doesn't impact me if it remains/gets reverted.

Let's revisit this in a month then.

 

I still stand by my vote, being opposed to the reversal. But if the current poll suggests otherwise then there isn't much else to it.

I do agree with Seller, though. I think everyone who actually uses this forum, outside of the market, have voted on this poll and not much is going to change if it's waited out. Other than people getting accustomed to this change and it being reverted later on when the results are pretty much the same.

 

Would you rather have 200 votes from people who don’t care, or 40 who are passionate about their vote?

 

Is there a way you can show us unique user visits on this thread so we can evaluate it?

 

Those who were in favor of the update look to be the minority here, as the poll suggests. Majority rules, no?

 

Regardless of this change, I think there should be a distinction between staff groups and non staff groups. @Sythe/@Shin would you agree to unbolden the non-staff groups?

Fair point, all i meant was if people weren't bothered either way then likely thats what'd cause them to not vote.

so you have
x amount of people unhappy
x amount that like the update

and x amount that just dont care

 

In real-life the people that dont vote dont get accounted for, so why would they be accounted for on Sythe. With that argument you can make any poll void as there will always be a group of people that isnt going to vote.
