this is hardly noteworthy

if you know anything about statistics, you know that less subjects = less generalizability to the general public.

there is a high chance that a few outliers caused these inflated statistics.





also, correlation does not equal causation

btw, i smoke, but that doesnt mean i dont notice its effects.
impaired reaction time, impaired working/episodic memory, social dysfunction in a lot of cases.

at one 420 event i went to, the people were too dazed and confused to make a path for paramedics to help a girl who as od'ing

i would not want a society that was as efficacious as that.

Marijuana does not cause lung cancer. Wouldn't you think the media would be parading these cancer riddin cannabis lungs all over the T.V?

Marijuana has been smoked for 5000 years there is not one cancer riddin lung to be shown.
Cigarettes have been proven to cause lung cancer. there are million of black lungs etc to prove that.
it took them what 70 years to find out they cause cancer? You see see damaged lungs all over the media as a direct result to cigarette smoke.
Iv never seen any lung with any kind of cancer or a case of black lung from a cannabis only smoker. If marijuana caused lung cancer they would have mounds of evidence, But its not there. Will never be there.

I don't agree with any of the options in the poll. Yes I do believe it should be legal but just like Cigarettes and Alcohol, it should be able to be bought at the age of 18 or 21. Of course with the same rules as Alcohol such as, don't drive under the influence etc. No it shouldn't be legal to EVERYONE, but it shouldn't be illegal to adults who can make their own decisions.

 

That's what can be assumed from the first option anyway I guess. Everyone as in, anyone of age.

Marijuana is being used world - wide medically. If legalized, it'll bring billions in revenue, which would indefinitely help the current economic state.

 

I think it should be legal but have some age restriction as alcohol does i guess. I dont understand why weed smokers are frowned upon to be honest. Everyone has mixed views on what weed actually does yet everyone knows what tabaco and alcohol and does is more accepted within the community. Shit's fucked up!

 

it is hard to find a cause-effect relationship because it is unethical to choose people at random and place them into weed smoking only groups for testing.

almost all people who smoke weed smoke cigarettes as well.
also, weed deposits 4X more tar in your lungs than cigarettes and can be just as bad for you.

also, it has not been "proven" that cigarettes cause cancer in humans. there is only a very high correlation at the moment.

Yes,it does put more tar into your lungs ONLY if you smoke using a pipe,joint,and blunt.
If you use a bubbler,bong,vaporizer,etc it filters out all the tar.

 

I think its spain or portugal that has decriminalized all drugs. They used to have abig drug issue. Know the percentage of dug useres has gone down. Less teens smoke cannabis. Look up the statistics. If caught ith drugs( marijuana to meth) you don't go to jail you go to rehab. Thats what they need to do. want less people "smoking dope" don't send the crack addicts and heroin addicts to jail. There just going to come out and continue prostitution, robbery and murder to get there fix.

Its a waste of taxpayers money to send them to jail just to have them come out and do it again. In my opinion there is much larger chance of them getting clean for longer periods of time if the government set up rehab centers. If not legalize full decriminalize to me it snot about how much money the government can make. They obviously know how much they can make. They just are stuck to this idea of a "Drug free America", That would be great. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Drugs will always be here no matter if legal or illegal its all about how you deal with them. Jail is not the answer. Decrim is the answer. We need to follow what europe is doing about there drug "Epidemic".

Many western polititions say that there laws will not work here. They never give a real reason.
The drug war has failed and they know it. They just want to keep up the act of being "Tough of crime"(drugs). Because that gets votes. People feel a false sense of protection.

@blazinfasstt not all marijuana smokes smoke cigarettes that is just a false statement. There are also much healthier ways of getting THC in your system. Vaperizors has mentioned. There are also edibles( cookies cakes brownies etc) There are also topical sprays, lolytpops and even lip bomb.

it is well known that one thing that impedes any real correlations being made are the lack of 100% marijuana smokers.

I'm a weed smoker and I agree with blazinfasstt in which there are plenty of negative effects caused by marijuana (generally when combusted) but only when used constantly. I remember when I used to smoke occasionally, I would have no negative effects. No burn-out, no memory impairment, no demotivation/laziness, etc.

Once I started smoking regularly, however (after like 3 months), the negative effects began to kick in and effect my everyday life.

I disagree, however, with your story blazinfasstt with the 420 event and how everyone was apparently stoned out of their minds. This is no reason against marijuana. Certainly if this was a party with a shit ton of alcohol, it would have been a worse situation if everyone was drunk when someone OD'd rather than a couple potheads being dazed and confused.
