I know y'all are busy, but it would be nice to have it cleaned up.

 

only ever gets full because the of the same people requesting an avatar every 2 days

Nevermind, that's just you. This drama between x339, cookiezzz and everyone else you seem to be targeting is childish. One would assume it's time for a break from Sythe.

Sypherz - Only mod i've really seen outstanding work being done from. You're on top of everything, keep up the good work.

n4n0 - You've been overly involved with the community lately and you're a really cool guy, one of the 'chillest' here, it's nice to see a mod involved with the community and treats everyone as if they're on the same level as you.

FireZ - You've been pretty involved with the community too, you manage crazy hours at work and still make time for the site, takes a lot, good job.

Edit: Forgot about -Ryan - One of the only mods able to have contact with, you've been cleaning the Dispute Forum up, good work.

 

I'd like to second that.

I don't usually post on staff feedback, but n4n0 does an excellent job and he should be commended for it.

 

PMing a Global to do it is faster mate.

Meh I'm sort of inclined to agree with this to a certain extent, although I wouldn't say Karl is a dick. Karl, you do a lot for the site which is great, but sometimes you get a bit 'arrogant' to some people, sometimes even me. I'm not referring to any single event, I'm mainly talking about in the last few weeks/months. It could just be how you are made or maybe it's something else, hell you might even just be playing around. I'm not saying you have a bad attitude or anything, but try and remember people don't always read something the way you see it.

Will do a full staff feedback in a few days for everyone, particularly the new sectionals.

 

I don't think Shoop get's enough love. He does a lot of great work!

Also SuF is amazing. I respect his intellect and how he applies it to his everyday sythe duties.

 

Well I get alot people asking me to do it via pm. Which I will address here. Don't do it because I'm rather busy and any request for title change or avatar will be removed. One other reason is because it's hard to do via iPhone.

 

It seems to me it's full not because of the same people requesting, but rather because it hasn't been cleaned in over a week?

Also I don't consider my avatar change a high priority, so I'm fine waiting in the thread. It'd just be nice to see it done.

 

Misinformed about whats going on to be fair, I'm not 'targeting' anyone, the situation with Cookiezzz isn't even something I want to happen, but eh If i'm bad because I decided to take steps into getting another IRC network set up because Cookiezzz has been saying that he can no longer support us, then I'm sorry.

Sadly the new wave of trolls have appeared on sythe, we have members that remind me of 2010/2011 members who are now banned, these current members waste mine and the staff in generals time, through constant rulebreaking, bans, dealing with stupid situations, etc. which limit the growth of the forum because our time is taken up by these timewasters. This is what annoys me, this is why I'm tired of being nice, If you do something stupid or make a stupid comment then i'll challenge you on it, I don't treat anyone differently because I'm staff, if you talk to me and treat me like shit you'll get the same.

I also hardly read this thread anymore due to the amount of non-constructive feedback and attacks on sythe staff for doing their job, namely Shoop being attacked for locking a thread that broke the rules.

The same people request them day in day out, The same staff clean that thread, myself being one of them, currently theres a bunch of deleted posts where the same members have requested avatars then deleted it because they changed their mind.

 

I wasn't trying to attack shoop. I was wondering if he decided to close them for fun as TWO other threads, same title(rossduggan is a faggot), were left open. Also, that happened yesterday, so i don't know what you're on about.

Unfortunately it has gotten to the point where the only things you consider "constructive" are the posts telling you how good you are.

When someone posts something negative, obviously something happened to make them feel that way. They don't just wake up in the morning and decide "hey I think I am going to post some negative feedback today". So instead of finding an excuse for everything that isn't "you're awesome!", try and figure out why they may feel that way, and say you'll work on it.

 

huh? I don't care if anyone gives me feedback or not, I don't need praise to know if I'm doing right or wrong. I consider constructive feedback as the feedback Laptop gave, expressing a formulated opininion.

Again you're assuming thats how I see it, either way.. I'll show you the examples of what I think is non-constructive and why this thread stinks.

I could keep going but its a waste of time, this thread has gone from General Feedback for staff (when Full feedback was given) to a way of belittling or making a specific staff member look bad, by being offensive and as non-constructive as possible.

 

You just completely proved my point. Maybe it is time for you to take a break from sythe.

 

After reading the last few posts on this thread I have to say that Karl you are not acting in a very professional way. While some of the feedback isn't worded in a constructive way it still implies feedback. If someone has come to this thread to present feedback about a particular issue, be it a well thought out paragraph or a short almost snide comment, it is still feedback. If someone comes here to say 'Hey, all of the mods are fags.' that is nonconstructive feedback, but if someone says 'Hey, you're acting like a dick.' that is something completely different. That means there is something that needs to be addressed because no one just says 'Man, I want to call Karl out today for the hell of it.' This isn't an attack, but if you have to be on the defensive about an issue or feedback then something isn't right.

Just wanted to leave Matthew some kudos. I saw he is hard at work on a more efficient donation center.

 

I just want to say that anyone who posts "XXX, you're acting like a dick", this is extremely unconstructive feedback. You need to provide specific examples, and don't use language like "you're being a dick". Say like "XXX, in this post here: (link provided), I think you're being too harsh". If you expect professionalism, learn to exercise it yourself (not you personally, just whoever posts dumb feedback like "you're being a dick")

 

So tell me how is being called a dick constructive, how do i learn from that when I've not changed at all? I am who i've always been.

 

Although simply being "called a dick" is not very descriptive and can be offensive, you have to look at what made them think that. That feeling didn't just appear out of no where. You have to talk with them in a professional manner and figure out why they felt that way. Then once you've found the source of the problem tell them that you'll work on it so that they don't feel that way again.

 

why should I do this for someone whos called me a dick? I'm not interested. Feedback should be constructive, or disregarded completely.

 

Why should mcdonalds respond to people saying there food is crap?

Why should Levi respond to people saying there jeans are ugly?

Why should Bioware respond to people saying there games are boring?

Because even though it's blunt, it's still feedback. You have to realize that something you did made them feel that way. Maybe they weren't very gentle about it, but they are still expressing feedback based on how you've acted, and since you want to be professional, it's your job to address that and try to fix it. So although it may not be the nicest thing, it is still feedback, it's still constructive, and you still need to find a way to work with it.

being called a dick is not constructive, I can't learn from that, if they don't intend on elaborating then I won't intend on caring.
