They be trippin- why are you moving threads from off topic to spam forum for no apparent reason? These threads are perfectly fine subjects to discuss yet you move them.

The second one was moved by Shoop, and I do agree, the off-topic mods are heavy-handed and it really shows.

Once these threads are moved to the spam forum you can noticeably see the activity drop in the threads, and the post quality on the thread is reduced as well. Granted, these threads don't have the best topics, but no need to move it to the spam forum unless it truly belongs there.

Sorry, yes that's what basically what i was trying to say. i think i've seen shoop do it more than trippin, but i could be wrong. nevertheless, because the topics aren't very suitable for the forum, doesn't mean they automatically belong in the spam forum.

Also, as headz said, enough locking stupid threads in the spam forum - that's what the spam forum is for ...

 

Personally, I've only moved two threads to the spam forum because they had absolutely no substance. And I couldn't really delete them.

As far as locking SF threads go, I do it sometimes by request and always when they are directly attacking other users (any users) because that isn't fit anywhere.

 

Staff is absolutely destroying the Report a Scammer/Spammer section. Great job guys.

 

Yeah I was thinking that, the last few promotions of sectionals have been very wise ones. They seem hell bent on making the Globals work to find something to do.

 

ok, i dont think i've ever posted here but i'm a little pissed off and i don't have any PM space to contact the moderators involved


i posted this thread in off-topic. nothing rule-breaking about it, wanted a serious, non-troll discussion with people interested and what not. next minute i found it's been moved by They Be Trippin for no particular reason at all to Spam Forum. again, nothing spammy or general discussion rule-breaking about it.

so it gets moved to spam forum and i think, meh. i report the post hoping to have trippin reply back to see why it was moved. there were about 25 replies to the thread, one of which was my reply to Tyro's questions which took about 20-30 minutes (i'm assuming he spent a bit on his post too). i then come back later on to see the thread has been moved back to general discussion and the entire thread cleared by sypherz.


i've also seen They Be Trippin locking a lot of threads in spam forum for no reason other than "they are annoying". these "annoying" threads weren't rule-breaking in any way. if you find it "annoying" please don't visit spam forum, it is named spam forum for a reason. i don't way to say it was abuse, but it was.



so what i'm trying to say is: what's going on here? are you guys thinking at all? or are you just performing these acts for the sake of being able to perform these acts? seems like They Be Trippin likes making and taking the law into his own hands. please just do what your meant to do (properly).

As I said before, certain off-topic mods are completely ruining the fun of the section and are suppressing actual discussion that could have happened, but didn't because they were moved. No offence to them, but they're power-tripping. You really need to cool down on the locks and the moving of threads you guys do, I know some of them may not be up to the standard(lower them) you guys want, but not everything can be at that standard, these threads are perfectly fine in those sections.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with that porn thread and I can find other examples but this is the one that was discussed earlier in this thread, sure some posts were spam but that's what deleting posts/infractions are for. That thread could have sparked up a number of discussions, which were suppressed because it was moved to the spam forum. Also locking spam forum threads, come on now, they're not doing any harm and locking them is futile. There are obviously some that need to be locked, but the majority don't.

tl;dr Moderation is required, being a buzz-kill isn't.

JohnK, I admit that I my have been a bit hasty in clearing everything after I moved your thread back to General. I figured that it would all be typical, well, spam. In the future if you would like me to restore any posts you have in mind all you have to do is ask. But I fixed the thread.

 

I have only moved 1 thread to the spam forum and that thread was the porn thread. If you think I made a mistake you could have contacted me on the matter. However if you did contact me I still would have kept it in the spam forum as it is not worthy of General Discussion, I stand by my decision of moving it there.
You can't have a discussion of how big your porn folder is. You can answer it once with how big it is and then there is nothing left to discuss, if somebody contact me saying "how big is your porn folder?" I'd ignore them, I wouldn't go into a great deal of discussion, not that we could anyway. For that, It's in the SF and I'll keep it there until a staff member in a higher position than myself thinks otherwise.

 

Well, you could expand on the question and talk about how you acquired the porn, what type it is, etc. If we applied that rule to every single thread, then Where did [insert name] go? would be in the spam forum as would the Does God Exist thread(s) since you can technically answer those with yes/no or a simple answer.
