Why do you think that way or what makes you think?

 

So you believe in delayed reincarnation? When you die, your "soul" searches for another body that's about to become alive, and possesses it? Oh, okay.

We all realize that religion = bs, I mean, faith. >.<

Before you were born, you were, essentially, nothing. When you die, you are dust > bones > ect.

The burden of ultimate proof is upon the believer.

You're reciting what your pastor says. You don't know anything about your religion except that if it's true, you go to a place called heaven.

Personally, Jesus didn't save you. Jesus didn't know you personally. Jesus isn't there when you need saving, now is he? Personally, when someone says "Jesus is my personal savior", I personally want to puke. That's just me, though.

When you die, you are usually put into a casket and buried into the ground. Then, you rot and your skin wears away, leaving only bones. All while this is happening, you have no thoughts, no meaning, no emotion, no soul, because you are dead.

How would it suck? That would, I suppose, be categorized into an emotion, and since I think it's safe to assume that you don't have emotions when you're dead, thinking that something sucked wouldn't really be an option.

Sure, though, it sucks thinking about it while you're still alive.

The sole purpose of this forum and ultimately every thread that is made is to discuss and debate intelligently. It's kind of hard to debate on such a subjective topic as religion while not asking for proof on the things that people say. Nonetheless, and therefore, it IS a debate forum, so don't ask us not to debate in it.

 

My point exactly, however the burden of proof lies with whomever pitches an affirmative argument. If I'm to state that there is a teapot orbiting Saturn right now, you'd likely think me ridiculous unless you had empirical evidence to prove such a thing.

See the above. However, blind faith is irrational. Most people should think of at least one reason why they are with a particular religion, rather than blind faith on the basis of what they hear in their goddam church.

 

I agree theres been no 100% proof but idk things tell me life after death.

 

Interesting how you would believe in a 10 year old girl stating that she's reincarnated when my Asian friend who scored a 320 on his math portion of the SAT won't believe me when I say he's not getting accepted into UC Berkeley. Eh, the idea of reincarnation is plausible, and I guess the idea of a deity is too. However, that's all it is, and we'll probably never know, at least not in our lifetimes.

There is no way to prove that there is a God and/or a Devil. There is no way to prove that there is heaven and hell. Seriously...Its what people believe in. truly i don't believe in anything just because it all seems like bullshit to me.
Its very hard know and days to prove something is right because alot of times it can be complete bullshit. just like the old woman supposed kid said she was a re-incarnation. the one post could be right? how do they know she wasn't psycho? or had a mental problem? or wasn't just plain fucked in the head?

or are souls rise up and we can see everyone and the other spirits but they can't see us. Swan, Arya,King Klutz and some more make interesting points as i have seen..but even then no one will know what happens when you die.

Like i said before i believe one of those two things will happen. i can't prove that but thats just me. shit happens where everyone has diffren't opinions and thats that.

Like the fact that a being created himself, in six days, created a never ending universe. Is known to be able to do all, yet he cannot, or for a more malevolent term, will not stop evil. Can not get over a silly emotion in which I've seen humans get over. Uses a book with imaginary stories in it to help humans prove his existence, among other things.

We have no proof that a God exist. You believe that a God exist because your church tells you to, or you've been brought up to believe so.

Most churches even have it to where there members give them money in the 'Name of Jesus!'

It's a paradoxical, yet incomprehensible. That is to say, to be thinking about what occurs after death, one would have to be in a state in which thinking can still occur.

The afterlife was a simple solution to this incomprehension. Heaven and hell were merely creations designed to control the masses.

 

Beginning with the bible is NOT God-proving, and God is NOT bible-proving - we conclude: one must have "faith" that God exists, and "faith" that the bible describes God.

Blind faith is illogical. Organized religion is paradoxical.
