Death, what do you think happens?

Religion is societies downfall, and if you call yourself a christian why are you doubting the existence of a place talked about extensively in your 'holy book' so called 'christians' are not supposed to doubt anything written in the bible, you must not think for yourself, were you not brainwashed properly or something?

Interesting point, religion has caused nothing but problems all throughout history. IT has started many wars and genocide

Believe what you want. Religion is just an explanation for man's beliefs throughout the ages. I doubt your religion or acts on earth would ever possibly affect your afterlife. Imagine how busy a god would be trying to judge the souls of everyone dying. Thousands of people die a day. I think the Deists are probably the closest in religious belief. Something HAD to start the universe but it no longer plays a role in governing it, the watchmaker theory if you will. The watchmaker makes a watch, sets it in motion, but then leaves to go take a dump and the clock runs quite alright by itself.

Point is, there would be no afterlife. So live your life well and enjoy it.

The only reason humans would think of anything like an afterlife is because we simply don't want to accept the fact that we're dead.
It's ideal to the human mind that it imagines something like a place beyond human imagination earned through the hardships of life, but the reality is we just die. We can't comprehend it because it's literally impossible to comprehend nonexistence.
If I were to die right now then I would just disappear, mentally at least.
I wouldn't know I'm dead, I wouldn't miss anyone, my consciousness would simply be dead.

Contrary to what I've just said, and yet also in agreement, I like to think one would be reincarnated, simply so I don't have to deal with the inability to comprehend nonexistence.

Precisely what I believe to be true, I just don't have the courage to accept it as the ultimate truth.
Religion is just reassurance for the human mind, it's just a fall back when humans start to actually think and it baffles them. It has caused nothing good in all the years it's been around, other than giving the cowards something extra to work for.

anyone with a brain would understand that when you die you are dead and there is nothing you can do about it and there is no afterlife

hmm i think that when we died we born in new body maybe cat dog or smb.. but we dont remember anything and we can't its like new baby but its bad that we cant remember that we had a life :(

That's called reincarnation.

Organized* religion

You don't have to follow some book or be a part of an organization to be religious. You can create your own religion with your own unique set of ideas and theories about life.

However, from every standpoint, it must be assumed.

I can also assume that life is eternal and when you are born into your human body your memory of the past is wiped out and when you die you find out who you really are.

For those believing that there is a blank afterlife, this has to be false. When we sleep is a prime example as an afterlife as we enter another dimension and impossibilities become possibilities. I think we will enter a permanent dream like state (heaven) for eternity.

I personally belief that you just die and u rot in a ditch(coffin) while getting munched on XD

I believe your ressurected dependant upon how you lived your life eg if you was a bad person you'd come back as something like a nat if you lived a good life then a shark or w/e. Just my thoughts and im not religious :P

Why is this even a question? Your brain ceases to function. Therefore, nothing "happens" with respect to your own consciousness and thought. What was it like before you were born?

"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it."
-Mark Twain

"We are going to die and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place, but will in fact never see the light of day, outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA, so massively outnumbers the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds, it is you and I in our ordinariness that are here. We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds, how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred."
-Richard Dawkins

Those quotes pretty much sum up my thoughts.

"The brain isn't functioning. It's not there. It's destroyed. It's abnormal. But, yet, it can produce these very clear experiences ... an unconscious state is when the brain ceases to function. For example, if you faint, you fall to the floor, you don't know what's happening and the brain isn't working. The memory systems are particularly sensitive to unconsciousness. So, you won't remember anything. But, yet, after one of these experiences [a NDE], you come out with clear, lucid memories ... This is a real puzzle for science. I have not yet seen any good scientific explanation which can explain that fact."

Of course you don't die. Nobody dies. Death doesn't exist. You only reach a new level of vision, a new realm of consciousness, a new unknown world.
– Henry Miller

Life is eternal; and love is immortal; and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
– R. W. Raymond

I can't think about this. I panic. I regret even clicking on the link.

I think that once we die that part of us gets reincarnated and the the rest of yourself is brought to this place where former pieces of yourself are at. You and the rest of yourselves influence the current living version of you to do things.

Idk.
I hate to think about cause think hard, you never* come back, Never*
But, We can only hope heaven is really there and we can see our Family.
