What happens... When you are... Dead?

For some reason, I find it humorous to think about things such as this. It's such a strange feeling to think about death. My mind just... Doesn't want to believe it.

I like to believe that I will be reborn as another person with a different life. It's the only thing I can remotely believe in. In my mind, I know that this probably wont happen, but it provides me with comfort.

I've often wondered if this life is the life after death. What if we've already died once and this is the end result? I've also wondered if other people actually exist. Sometimes, I believe I make everyone up. No one exists. I am the one people refer to as 'god'. I know this is ridiculous as well, but it often crosses my mind.

 

When you die... nothing happens... you just die end of story

 

I have my own odd belief.

I am non-religious and this is just my imagination but I believe when we die we just go through the same life over and over again.

 

While we may be, to an extent, on the same page in reference to what happens after you die, many people here are questioning, not the beliefs thought up on ignorance, but those on simple imagination.

You can't question faith. Well, you can, but it'd be irrational, to say the least.

ever black out from drinking to much? thats what i think happens. i litterly dont remember anything, its as if im actually dead until the time i wake up.

 

You still exist, it's just that you're not alive...

 

To me, not being alive is the same thing as not existing.

 

Who knows, I think that you are given a new life to start with.

 

I belive in reincarnation and that thoese who were kind in life will become an animal of there choice and thoese who are bad in life become lowly animals

 

Nothing.
We only can't imagine what happens because we will never experience it before, or after. (That's where religion fills in the blanks... you know, 'we can't explain it so we resort to fairy tales'). Anyway.. Nothing happens. You just stop .. 'being'. You won't feel anything, you won't think anything, you won't care about anything you will just not be.

Christianity is not a religion, it's a lifestyle. I believe you either go to heaven or hell, something of that sort. However, of the two popular beliefs; heaven and hell, and nothing but laying in dirt, only one of them will be right.

 

You must value your life so much for thinking that. If you think that about your life then why the fuck do you even bother trying? Why would you even for a single moment bother if one day you simply "cease to exist". You sicken me.

 

How would I know? This is God we're talking about. I'm pretty sure the most perfect thing ever doesn't think like us. I believe not from feelings, I believe from what I see happen, discoveries, even stuff that is common sense to me. It's faith and it's what I live for.

 

The church term for that is fire insurance. It's blind faith really. I don't go by blind faith. Some things that there are, are Archaeological discoveries, things happening in modern times like the economic system and wars. accurateness to places in the Bible. more examples such as unexplainable stories after surgery and such. You would have a lot more success if you tried to find God instead of vice versa. Even going to Europe on my cruise, I saw all the places where the well-known people were buried. I was at the place where St. Peter was buried, a guy that even claimed to see Jesus. Everyone interprets stuff differently. The bad thing about hell is the separation from God. Go to the bookstore and grab a random Christian Apologetics book off the shelf, it will give you a lot more things to think about.

 

What evidence do you have that any of the things they have found are even real? There is as much truth in that statement as me finding a bone in my backyard from a family who lived in my house before me, which buried their dog when it died 15 years ago, then me claiming they are dinosaur bones.

 

How can you say they are not real when they physically have them? That makes absolutely no sense. Finding complete uninhabited fortresses aren't real? lost cities like Gobekli Tepe which is thought to be the Garden of Eden, it's exactly where the Bible describes it to be. I'm simply stating my beliefs. Now I would like to hear yours. This is supposed to be our opinion on what happens when we die, not proof of God.

 

You are born with nothing and you die with nothing, except for a knowledge and experience of everything you went through in your life. All your physical belongings don't mean a thing after death. It seems that the end product of our lives on this earth is this knowledge that we die with. This is why I think that this life is a preparation for something, and that it is important to learn and experience things so you'll be ready for the next level.

 

I'm not certain of what happens when we die...I do not believe in heaven or a god though....But its hard to grasp the concept of not existing anymore. We are always aware of something. I think something happens when we die...Even if its starring into blackness for an eternity. Or we might return back to our mothership?
