Private servers that were ran by the Technical Core, were community based and yes, you could argue that more people playing SytheScape = less people playing on other private servers, therefore SytheScape had an impact on the private servers gold/accounts/services demand, however, not a direct impact.

SytheLib doesn't have an effect on the RS bot market on sythe, because there's no RS bot market. Sure, some users might offer private scripts, but it's only a tiny minority of the trades on sythe and script writers still have an option to switch to a different bot platform, such as SytheLib.

Sythe ran gold site (or any other popular items such as: skins, keys, gift cards) would have a huge impact on the rest of the market.

Your proposal involved volunteer run gold shop. That's completely fine and you are free to open one, but it can't be a sythe official one and you can't receive any advantages in a form of perks, or ranks, as was proposed.

I would say that about 1/3 (if not more) of volunteers like CDT/PR/TC have historically gone rogue, i.e. got banned for ban evading, have scam quit, or have been banned for different offenses.
So one thing is volunteering your free time and energy and the other is being in a position that requires monetary trust.
This would have to be a really selectively chosen group of volunteers.

1st scenario - someone decide to scam quit (damages could be limited by each individual using his own wallets and mules). Someone would have to take care of his/her victims.

2nd scenario - mules get banned (or volunteer claims so). How would their losses get covered?

Now, if you run a business of this scale you must operate as a legal entity. Who's going to register a company?

Lastly:

...tips on how to market their store for example using keywords in posts to come up on search engines etc. The gold can then be used for server hosting and w/e sythe needs possibly another forum board for interesting and educational things where kids can learn and have fun learning business skills(account sales, training, gold farming) for the real world with support.

Volunteers can write up free guides in the relevant forum section w/o the need of running a gold shop, so what's left is that the profit can be used for server hosting, which is currently covered by donations and banners.

In terms of how it would affect the market I do not have the relevant data to make models/forecast or predict if I said something it would just be my opinion as you know everyone has one it does not make it true. I am sorry but I do not have the free time to create a lucrative business on what ifs nor would I want to use the owner’s rich and great brand he should be a multi-millionaire from this venture not asking for donations but that’s just my two cents. Also with the profit it would turn I would (if it was me big if) hire workers including moderation(all of them would have degree in computer sciences for coding), in regards to the legal aspect of it I will donate the time of my legal team as that is not my area of expertise nor do I have knowledge in that field other than what I have read from a few books and Google. I want to see this website around 10 years from now, and again just my thoughts even if it did something to the market I think that’s a small price to pay for the owner who created a home for people no offence but are or have been "misfits" and also paid off the student loans of more than a "couple" people created jobs and gave people purpose and made them feel empowered when life told them otherwise. In the end I just want to be able to give some kid that’s being picked on and bullied a place to belong and enjoy. I am going to donate also keep up the good work moderating this forum!

Firstly, Your Bi-quarterly’s are more dry then a turkeys booty. Quarterly’s used to collate info all together show off wins/results, show off graphics winners, have debate, podcast, etc. Is it dry cos everything is in one spot now?

You used Felix’ winter logo for xmas. He’s been banned for a while. Put this as a note for next xmas; or any holiday. You can ask people to create the logo. It gets the community involved.

[PRIZES] Design the Winter themed Sythe Logo's![CDT] use previous logos created in threads like these for future events. Legit pre-made, non-banned users.

Lastly, wtf have you done to SOTM? You put them in Community Events section and killed it off? There’s gotta be a good excuse, is there a revamp in the waiting?

The last Sotm was in August.
Since moving Sotm to Community Events. Aug got 3 entries, July had 2, June had 5.

BACK IN MAY WHEN IT WAS IN GFX SECTION, 8 entries.
You decided to remove an event from the section it is most appealing to.
The graphics section - the place you want people to be involved in community events that relates to GFX or art.
Put it back down in the GFX section; and give a good incentive to participate again, cos it’s been months.

Quite the contrary. Previously Sythe Quarterly used to include all results from the SOTM/tournaments/holiday events, but it is no longer the case, as we post results thread ASAP and only mention the winners in the Sythe Bi-Monthly.

We don't currently plan to host the SOTM competitions. The main reason that people participated for was a custom minirank, as a reward for achieving 6 participation points. People simply didn't participate, because they didn't have a motivation to do so. That being said, CDT don't want to subside an event by spawning plenty of miniranks.

No. You killed the Sotm off. Re-open it back in the GFX section. It was a perfectly acceptable event that got the GFX and art community involved. There was participation in the right section.

The point of custom minirank the feathers and additional feathers was to entice more people. Continuous work in the event = GFX community involved in forum + motivation for recognition (their gfx is displayed) in Quarterly = choice of minirank. You could put it back to whom ever 5 people get top points at the end of the year = choice of mini.

In fact you could change the way it works. I saw a recent suggestion here. Make different versions of sotm; like submit your artwork or something whatever.

You could even get people to compete to make GFX for cdt? A minirank in return & recognition in whatever event you have to use it for. (Unlikely I don’t reckon any one wants to compete to do stuff for CDT)

I have to disagree here. Personally I stopped submitting entries because the same user was picked every month. There's the reason behind my lack of motivation. Don't get me wrong, @DSC entries were fire. But it was not fun to participate when the results were set in advance. The SOTM competition was a competition for one and not for everyone (figuratively speaking).

This is a solution worth trying in my opinion. There are tons of qualities among the artists on this forum. Some are killing the banner, other are awesome illustrators and then we've got specialists in UI design. Don't bring SOTM back, but please introduce DOTM (Design of the Month) or something similar.

The rules for sign-up were posted many times with instructions on how to join, had you read them you probably would have made it in time, sadly you did not make it in time and therefore were ineligible to join. Now that you have the role it will be easier to sign-up next time.

A live-trivia event based on Sythe.org history/events/happenings/scandals/etc may be interesting to have (note: I suggest Sythe.org, as google will be of minimal help, if any).

This way new users learn a bit about the sites history and occurrences, and our fellow seasoned users get to fight it out to see who knows the most.

Questions and answers could be chosen by the Admin team/older users, and then passed down to the CDT team, or whatever is optimal.

I'm unsure if there's any free live-trivia type websites out there, but if there is, it could be hosted there. Alternatively, perhaps on discord?

The finer details of team sizes, schedules, etc can be ironed out if this were to go ahead.

Chain HnS: How this works is very similar to normal HnS, however it's requires a few more hosts and significantly more effort. A group of 4-5 CDT members will hide across runescape, with hints given publicly about only one of the locations. From there, the participants seek out the CDT member with hints given about his/her location in the public channel. Once they find the said person, the CDT member then gives them hints about the second CDT member's location. Rinse and repeat until all members are found and a final winner is chosen.

Mobile Game Tournaments: Would love to see some tournaments over some popular mobile games (Clash Royale, for example. They already have an in game tournament system so there's no need to set-up brackets over Sythe. All they need is a password and the right time to join)

Unique Hi-Score oriented games: Games centered around this usually provide an enjoyable grinding experience for anybody shooting for high scores. The few events that have had these (Tetris, Frogger, Slope even though Slope was buggy AF and made me rage hard) were more enjoyable to participate in than other events (like fashionscape, cookout, design). If you need some ideas, I'd recommend Goin' up, Learn to Fly (The original without all the BS premium upgrades), and Toss the Turtle

Unique Multiplayer Online Tournaments: Same as above. Games like Haxball and Skrib are enjoyable but get stale after a while. CDT should be actively looking for new games to try out in and out of RS. Some personal recommendations include: Castle Wars (in Runescape), Plazma Burst 2 (An online third person shooter that died around 2013, but still has some great tournament maps), and Diep.io

These are great suggestions! I liked your spin on H&S as it brings a more refreshing approach to the game. Perhaps if mobile games are liked I can do some more research into ones we can all get into.

 

Here is a bunch of suggestions that CDT has either ignored or dismissed without any reasonable explanation

To be fair, we're talking about Connect Four here, not chess. And by setting a timer of 15? seconds between moves, ensuring that if you start a game you must finish it "quick." No time to screenshot or switch it over into an algorithm essentially. This makes members think quicker as well. On top of that, there's no real advantage (I believe) of a system that helps you cheat in C4. I mean, I believe small children can even comprehend the game, unlike chess persay. There's not many moves you can really make that give you an advantage without allowing opponent to jump ahead with a chance of winning, unless you continue to know when to counter your opponent as well.

And yes I think it would be fun. Our last C4 tournament.. YEARS ago, had over 60 members. I would even say it may have just as any if not more than Pokemon tournament. Small to medium prize winnings and a minirank will definitely attract users.

I mean what do we technically have to lose from running this event? It's fresh, hasn't been done in long time, and minirank is already in the system. I would love to see it implemented, and help from the sidelines if needed. I think it's worth talking about more. Feel free to PM / Discord me about it to talk more!

It's crazy that the community should have to give input for you to realize the redundancy. Give the new CDT members a shot and don't shut down their ideas like you did with mine. Think one of the application requirements says you should dare to try new things. That is clearly something that our CDT leaders have forgotten about.

Most of these that you mentioned were responded to by @BlackBlasses and he did give a reasonable explanation for them you may just disagree with the results.

As for the rest they are taken into consideration but the "League of Legends tournament" couldn't be more vague, do they want to see 5v5 games on summoners rift, 5v5 aram, smaller team aram, set 1v1's on either rift or aram with preset items and runes. These are the things we would love to know so we can better cater the events.

We have turned down multiple sponsorships for games where they wanted to sponsor a event that we have already done, as for seasonals we will take your opinion into consideration, and if you have any specific recommendations for events you can feel free to pm me on sythe or discord or post them here.

Tip: Reply to the suggestion and you might get answers to your questions. That way CDT can better cater events and suggesters will not feel ignored.
