In terms of how it would affect the market I do not have the relevant data to make models/forecast or predict if I said something it would just be my opinion as you know everyone has one it does not make it true. I am sorry but I do not have the free time to create a lucrative business on what ifs nor would I want to use the owner’s rich and great brand he should be a multi-millionaire from this venture not asking for donations but that’s just my two cents. Also with the profit it would turn I would (if it was me big if) hire workers including moderation(all of them would have degree in computer sciences for coding), in regards to the legal aspect of it I will donate the time of my legal team as that is not my area of expertise nor do I have knowledge in that field other than what I have read from a few books and Google. I want to see this website around 10 years from now, and again just my thoughts even if it did something to the market I think that’s a small price to pay for the owner who created a home for people no offence but are or have been "misfits" and also paid off the student loans of more than a "couple" people created jobs and gave people purpose and made them feel empowered when life told them otherwise. In the end I just want to be able to give some kid that’s being picked on and bullied a place to belong and enjoy. I am going to donate also keep up the good work moderating this forum!

3 bones to pick.

Firstly, Your Bi-quarterly’s are more dry then a turkeys booty. Quarterly’s used to collate info all together show off wins/results, show off graphics winners, have debate, podcast, etc. Is it dry cos everything is in one spot now?

Secondly,

You used Felix’ winter logo for xmas. He’s been banned for a while. Put this as a note for next xmas; or any holiday. You can ask people to create the logo. It gets the community involved.

[PRIZES] Design the Winter themed Sythe Logo's![CDT] use previous logos created in threads like these for future events. Legit pre-made, non-banned users.

Lastly, wtf have you done to SOTM? You put them in Community Events section and killed it off? There’s gotta be a good excuse, is there a revamp in the waiting?

The last Sotm was in August.
Since moving Sotm to Community Events. Aug got 3 entries, July had 2, June had 5.

BACK IN MAY WHEN IT WAS IN GFX SECTION, 8 entries.
You decided to remove an event from the section it is most appealing to.
The graphics section - the place you want people to be involved in community events that relates to GFX or art.
Put it back down in the GFX section; and give a good incentive to participate again, cos it’s been months.

No. You killed the Sotm off. Re-open it back in the GFX section. It was a perfectly acceptable event that got the GFX and art community involved. There was participation in the right section.

The point of custom minirank the feathers and additional feathers was to entice more people. Continuous work in the event = GFX community involved in forum + motivation for recognition (their gfx is displayed) in Quarterly = choice of minirank. You could put it back to whom ever 5 people get top points at the end of the year = choice of mini.

In fact you could change the way it works. I saw a recent suggestion here. Make different versions of sotm; like submit your artwork or something whatever.

You could even get people to compete to make GFX for cdt? A minirank in return & recognition in whatever event you have to use it for. (Unlikely I don’t reckon any one wants to compete to do stuff for CDT)

anyways instead of removing an event for The GFX section (go into any forum anywhere and there is always an event for GFX sections) stop being lazy and revamp it.

 

I have to disagree here. Personally I stopped submitting entries because the same user was picked every month. There's the reason behind my lack of motivation. Don't get me wrong, @DSC entries were fire. But it was not fun to participate when the results were set in advance. The SOTM competition was a competition for one and not for everyone (figuratively speaking).

This is a solution worth trying in my opinion. There are tons of qualities among the artists on this forum. Some are killing the banner, other are awesome illustrators and then we've got specialists in UI design. Don't bring SOTM back, but please introduce DOTM (Design of the Month) or something similar.

League Of Legends Tournaments

 

The member of your cdt team @Poat is very bad. I tried to join a game and pmed and posted i'd like to enter but he purposely doesn't pick me. He flames me 247 he is not a good representation of the community development team. I think you should look for a better member!

 

The rules for sign-up were posted many times with instructions on how to join, had you read them you probably would have made it in time, sadly you did not make it in time and therefore were ineligible to join. Now that you have the role it will be easier to sign-up next time.

 

Where is the dislike button? I thought this was the feedback thread for CDT team. My feedback is that he is not a good pick for the community development team. I think theres many other people would be suitable, who are more helpful and genuinely who respect all members on this forum.

Event ideas I guess

Chain HnS: How this works is very similar to normal HnS, however it's requires a few more hosts and significantly more effort. A group of 4-5 CDT members will hide across runescape, with hints given publicly about only one of the locations. From there, the participants seek out the CDT member with hints given about his/her location in the public channel. Once they find the said person, the CDT member then gives them hints about the second CDT member's location. Rinse and repeat until all members are found and a final winner is chosen.

Mobile Game Tournaments: Would love to see some tournaments over some popular mobile games (Clash Royale, for example. They already have an in game tournament system so there's no need to set-up brackets over Sythe. All they need is a password and the right time to join)

Unique Hi-Score oriented games: Games centered around this usually provide an enjoyable grinding experience for anybody shooting for high scores. The few events that have had these (Tetris, Frogger, Slope even though Slope was buggy AF and made me rage hard) were more enjoyable to participate in than other events (like fashionscape, cookout, design). If you need some ideas, I'd recommend Goin' up, Learn to Fly (The original without all the BS premium upgrades), and Toss the Turtle

Unique Multiplayer Online Tournaments: Same as above. Games like Haxball and Skrib are enjoyable but get stale after a while. CDT should be actively looking for new games to try out in and out of RS. Some personal recommendations include: Castle Wars (in Runescape), Plazma Burst 2 (An online third person shooter that died around 2013, but still has some great tournament maps), and Diep.io

These are great suggestions! I liked your spin on H&S as it brings a more refreshing approach to the game. Perhaps if mobile games are liked I can do some more research into ones we can all get into.

Lastly, a very specific suggestion: don't run the same damn events over and over. You're doing nothing special. It's crazy that the community should have to give input for you to realize the redundancy. Give the new CDT members a shot and don't shut down their ideas like you did with mine. Think one of the application requirements says you should dare to try new things. That is clearly something that our CDT leaders have forgotten about.

 

Most of these that you mentioned were responded to by @BlackBlasses and he did give a reasonable explanation for them you may just disagree with the results.

As for the rest they are taken into consideration but the "League of Legends tournament" couldn't be more vague, do they want to see 5v5 games on summoners rift, 5v5 aram, smaller team aram, set 1v1's on either rift or aram with preset items and runes. These are the things we would love to know so we can better cater the events.

We have turned down multiple sponsorships for games where they wanted to sponsor a event that we have already done, as for seasonals we will take your opinion into consideration, and if you have any specific recommendations for events you can feel free to pm me on sythe or discord or post them here.
