To be fair, we're talking about Connect Four here, not chess. And by setting a timer of 15? seconds between moves, ensuring that if you start a game you must finish it "quick." No time to screenshot or switch it over into an algorithm essentially. This makes members think quicker as well. On top of that, there's no real advantage (I believe) of a system that helps you cheat in C4. I mean, I believe small children can even comprehend the game, unlike chess persay. There's not many moves you can really make that give you an advantage without allowing opponent to jump ahead with a chance of winning, unless you continue to know when to counter your opponent as well.

And yes I think it would be fun. Our last C4 tournament.. YEARS ago, had over 60 members. I would even say it may have just as any if not more than Pokemon tournament. Small to medium prize winnings and a minirank will definitely attract users.

I mean what do we technically have to lose from running this event? It's fresh, hasn't been done in long time, and minirank is already in the system. I would love to see it implemented, and help from the sidelines if needed. I think it's worth talking about more. Feel free to PM / Discord me about it to talk more!

With the new LoL competition running, I thought it may be a good proposal for a future Counterstrike comp for fun. Not going to go into the details of rules, in-game settings, etc. This is merely an intro idea to bring light to the possibility.

Shitty tournament organization and handling. Split threads into 2, results and general. For tounrnaments with CLEAR brackets then the results should be updated as results come in instead of all at once. Shitty timeframes, and delays happen as a result. If users could play as results came in then the tournament would be able to proceed easier and smoother. Instead, they wait till the end of a period, and have to handle a bunch of information in which they miss info.

Users shouldn't be placed in the same bracket if they had previously lost to them.

Take the battleship tournament. CB Services was in the same group as me for the round robin stage, but is now in the match right after in the bracket stage. User should have been placed on the opposite end of the bracket instead of it being randomly chosen.

 

Make Discord a requirement for tournaments. Trying to coordinate only by sythe pms is cancer.

 

for the fashion event, can you explain whats summer themed about #2 and #3 outfits? I sent in an actual summer themed outfit of a bathing suit and it didnt make the cut. Makes no sense to me.

I agree. We should have a live link / thread post that has the bracket. Allow staff / CDT to enter winners/losers.

I understand @WantaCookie 's question. I understand why you feel a little snubbed. Hope to see an answer for you.

Maybe expand the voting process before we select 10 to allow community voting in the future. Just a suggestion.

 

the event specifically said outfits and nothing about context/background. nevertheless I think its quite obvious that its a circus tent, especially with all the hay. You could say that pun works for #4 but for #2? We have had the monthly signature design competition for a long time now. I think it's time to switch it up and allow other hidden talents to step forward!

My suggestion is that CDT decides on a design project every month. This could be anything from designing a billboard to a wedding invitation or something as simple as username image. Hopefully this would encourage more people to participate!

How about a volunteer run gold shop, wholesalers that sell gold to the sythe gold shop can get some perks, ranks, and tips on how to market their store for example using keywords in posts to come up on search engines etc. The gold can then be used for server hosting and w/e sythe needs possibly another forum board for interesting and educational things where kids can learn and have fun learning business skills(account sales, training, gold farming) for the real world with support.

 

Wouldn't the private servers in the works compete also? Or the Bot(not sure if its still going) why would this be different from that?
