Change to the ban evader rules

I'd say maybe 2 weeks instead of one but that sounds fair enough.
Should also SRB the vader accounts so they don't come back later and use them.

I think it should depend on the reason of ban, as in the above then thats okay...

 

We were mainly addressing the problem of 3 day infraction bans here. I kinda forgot about 3 month bans. Serial ban evaders will get perm'd or a longer temp ban. We'll figure that one out at some point.

 

Give them longer than a week dude.

It's a temp ban, if you can't sit that out then you really should be forced to take a longer break from the site.. Other people have had to wait out months and months. It gives you a better appreciation for the site in the long run.

If you're willing to evade a temporary ban, what does that show about your character? Not only are you being deceitful to Sythe by lying but it's a scary thought to think what will happen if they get perm banned.

Wait it out or get out, I think that should be it. End of story.

 

Most of the people that evade temp bans do not know that it isn't something they can't do. Multiple offenses will result in longer bans.

 

How do they not know if I may ask? I mean "Temporary Ban" seems pretty straight forward. To teach a lesson you gotta nip it in the bud, if you ask me!

 

Because they are new and stupid.

 

So are people who try to steal ATM machines but they still have to get what's coming to them. Otherwise, they'll just continue to be stupid and clueless lol.

Edit: I used the ATM thing as an example based on how many fails I've seen involving taking one.

I just don't see the grey area in "You're banned, stay away for this amount of time". I think it's an excuse, but perhaps I'm just naive or maybe too harsh.

 

Oh you joined today spammed got banned for three days and make a new account and now we never want you to come on our website every again? That makes no sense. A week was what we thought was a sound punishment. If they do it more they will get more severe punishments.

 

Why not unban any user who was banned for this reason, if requested? Why is it selective if they rules have been amended?

 

Because temp bans were going to expire and permament bans werent supposed to expire in the future I think

No support.. if people do not have the self control to refrain from scamming they should not be welcome :c

 

We want to retain the power to not allow someone we do not deem as fit back into the community. We will be handling any disputes on a case by case basis.
