Take a look at the MM section. How many OMMs actually offer their services?

I agree that there should be many things taken into consideration and that since you are like you said active working, you 100% deserve to keep the role. I think I’m more extreme cases of inactivity should it be taken but only then. If your active and bump your thread when you can that is honestly enough abd it doesn’t have to be extremely harsh the activity requirements as a whole.I think we should look at more than just "OMM activity" when it comes to deeming whether an OMM is inactive or not.
I know I haven't been the most active OMM but I am still very active in the market (it is my job, and my side job) and I haven't had time to bump my OMM thread and give time to the people who need it. However; I don't deem myself a threat to the community or 'inactive' by any chance because I still work 6 days a week in the OSRS/RS3 market.
I hope this gets taken in to consideration also when looking at an OMMs activity, because if they are still in the general market, I don't see them as a threat of randomly scamming.

Hey all I was thinking a a few potential updates for the OMM role. Currently most OMMs are very inactive and don't often MM and there have not been any accepted since June of 2017 despite many people applying and getting denied despite having completed the proofs. Most people will use other MM's as they are free and often more trusted and active. The people that apply are WAY more active now for the most part as well.
What I'm Suggesting
1. Better Guidelines in place for those looking to achieve the Role. Make this more of a serious role.
Currently it doesn't seem like the role is taken too seriously. Maybe that is just me. I think it was in the past but today in this day and age it isn't. I suggest revamping it and giving people more incentive to try and apply. I feel most don't apply because either no one is being accepted and there's also no talk about becoming an OMM. There seems to be some confusion and separation between newer members and older members in having to do with this role. OMM rank is a role of trust on Sythe. Many people won't use anyone BUT an OMM. The rank definitely has importance and I believe the newer members (last 2 years) should have a fair chance as well but it seems like it isn't fair or everyone who applied recently has sucked? It would be nice to hear other opinions as well
2. Become more strict on Activity Requirements
We don't want someone coming back from a long hiatus and scamming out. or a possible account breach. If I recall this has happened and I think a cleanup would be good as technical core did as well. We also need more Activity Requirements as many OMM have been inactive for long periods of time and barely MMing anything. They just sit with the fun rank.
3. Make it more prestigious/difficult to achieve. Increase the amount of larger trades required to receive this role.
I believe this needs to be increased for many reasons. Someone being trusted multiple times with large amounts makes a huge difference than one or two trades as it requires now. As a customer I'd feel more comfortable knowing this person has handled a lot of money on multiple occasions with many different people. I believe there should be a requirement of a $1k trust, as this is much more serious and difficult compared to now and would make it a lot more legit of a role. I also believe most Sythe members would scam that so it would say something about someone achieving this role and it would put more customers at ease.
3. You guys complain of not having enough OMMs and then you want to make it even more difficult to achieve. Flawed logic here.
If I remember correctly, the vote in the OMM lounge is mainly there to get a set of eyes from those who already have the rank. We still vote and give our opinions and analysis on the candidate but the final vote still comes down to upper staff.I think there should be more OMM. The application itself should not be changed at all, not be made easier or harder. In my opinion, the vote in the OMM lounge should be removed. The applications should still go through there, but OMM should only be responsible for looking through the trades to ensure that everything is legitimate and that all the trades meet the standards of an OMM.
The way it is now with a 7 day voting stage in the OMM lounge simply drags out the process longer than it needs to be. It also bothers me that the people deciding whether you get the rank are also your 'competitors' in the market. The whole thing just makes the rank feel like some exclusive club rather than a badge of trust.

my dude, can you please tell me what the purpose of the OMM rank is if there are non available like 95% of the time when someone needs one???
go to the MM section and count how many are currently available, I see 1, and they’re charging $20 at that.
What the fuck is up with 0 OMMs being accepted since 2017??? An admin of the site and 2 global mods being denied? What kind of fuckery is this, do you need to be god himself to get this shit rank?
just think once before you speak
don’t get me wrong, it’s useful for the serial scammers out there to have such a pathetic, unavailable, and useless OMM rank because no one will actually use one ! Thanks Sythe ! Keep on keepin on ~~
I agree that activity requirements should be stricter. There’s a handful of OMMs that haven’t even bumped their threads in months.
Also, no accepted apps since 2017 and two mods/an admin getting denied is just astounding to me. I’ve never understood the exclusivity of being an OMM, or why they are so strict in the voting stages. If you complete all the required trades, build a good reputation, and have a clean history, there should be no reason for you to be denied.
I just feel like staff getting denied OMM is a bad look for the site. It doesn’t surprise me at all that none of them are on staff anymore. Not saying there’s any correlation, but finding out they got denied must’ve been a real gut punch for those guys. Yikes
I'm not too sure why you're trying to be passive-aggressive against the rules of OMM when you haven't bumped your MM thread since 2018. If you cared to help others.. why not bump it and do it for free..?I'd love to be an OMM. 10 years here with no stain on my name whatsoever. I simply come and go and just spend here, never sell. Would love to help others get a safe trade, but nope. I'm just a scam-quit waiting to happen, right?
Denied Middleman ApplicationsWho was denied? thanks.
