An Atheist asserts that a personal God does not exist.
Where, then, does morality come from? Without a God, what is the basis of morality?

Don't you just love it when people post without backing up anything they say? It give me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
Please describe these "loose ends."
Shred is an atheist, by the way, you're not trying to convince him, Ghost..
If morality stems from such things as upbringing, then it is impermanent, and subjective, correct? It means that there is no higher set of absolute moral laws, and that certain actions may be viewed as right or wrong by certain individuals, but are in effect neither.
So basically, right and wrong are human constructs, and are meaningless. If I murder another person, there is no higher law that makes it wrong.
If there's no God, how did all of this start. it all goes back a long time ago...but it started somewhere. I can say where, because I truely belive, but you cant say? you have no explination? you're all just scared of what you can't explain.
