    Atheism...

EDIT: Please make sure you clearly understand the discussion topic before posting.

I have a question for any atheists out there. I have been wondering this for a while.

What is the point of proving there is no God? Do you feel it gets you anywhere in life? If there is no God, it should not be a big deal, right?

I am just curious on what atheists think about this. Personally I think if they did not subconsciously believe in a God, they would not try to make their minds believe there is no God.

If you haven't guessed already, I am a Christian. I do not wish to debate my faith. It would not be interesting, as I would never change my beliefs. I simply want to know why some people preach atheism, as I cannot see anywhere they could believe it would get them.

    Clearing it up:
This is not a "Does God exist?" thread. I am not asking that. I want to know only why atheists preach atheism, as if they do not believe in a God, there would be no heaven, so it does not get them anywhere after this life.

Then again I also think that people think too much about life... anyway let's hear some input!

God = Allah = Boedha = Some others
There are (according to each religion) tons of 'Gods'. Then WHO should you believe in?

My vision of what you're saying there:

When you're dead, its all over. That means: No heaven, no hell, nothing else.

    Atheism...

I'm an atheist and i don't believe in a GOD i believe in my own theory that makes sense to me.

Every peron lives in what we call time everything we do did already happen...Its not for humans only its for everything that exists.
What happens when you die is that you are dead in this time. And everything starts over... its just a infinite loop that never ends.

I'm not looking for everyone's beliefs. I'm curious on WHY some people will actively try to prove there is no God, because if they truly believe that, then their preaching will get them nowhere after this life.

I get angry with the religion's viewpoints. The only one I think its legitimate is Buddhism or Confucianism. The bible/koran/whatever garbage they teach from is way too outdated, and teaches inequalities. If we all lived off the bible, we'd all be suicide bombers, living in third world countries.

Aka Islam + Iraq = what religion would result in.

PS: I believe in some superior deity, I just think 90% of the religions of the world are a complete failure.

You do know Buddhism is one of the first religions to be born, so I wouldn't be pinpointing the other religions as "outdated"

We don't have to be living in a world off religion, but we can live in a world with good morals which follow the aspects of the religion.

Just to let you know those people who do the killings/bombings etc.. are extremist and these such people do NOT represent the "religion" it self, but only the way they had interpreted the book.

Have you even researched on your own religion? yet question or "approve" of the existence of others?

Now I'm telling you 100% sure the "propaganda teachings" in your 9th grade history class are more or less absolutely incorrect.
Actually to the "untrained" mind that is.

Now have you ever even researched on other religions? or teachings?

I highly doubt it, because I don't think you would set that time to read hundreds of pages of clear out history.

Without religion, what good morals (if any) would we follow?

How would our world... our society be affected today if we had no leadership, no understanding, or no basic principles on a stable foundation.

Let me remind you the bill of rights would most likely not exist without the word of "Christianity" existence.

Anyway I'm not Christian, just to let you know.

For most people who preach atheism they like to believe they're superior and know more than the followers of religion. I am an atheist myself, and i like to believe that there will always be something that we don't know, but trying to find that out stretches us and makes us more knowledgeable.

The answer is that people who believe in imaginary beings are DELUSIONAL. People who talk to imaginary beings are DELUSIONAL. If everyone around you started believing in flying pink elephants who wear top hats and go around yelling, "The British are coming!!!", would you not at least try to make them come to their senses?

Explain ghosts, or something like that. There have been thousands of ghost encounters, some that just can't be explained logically. And are not set up.

I don't think I really believe in ghosts. I've never seen one, but I think I could feel like I was if I tried to. I think it starts from the uncomfortable feeling you get when your alone, like someones watching your or something of the sort. That minor paranoia is what I think causes people to believe they have seen or heard ghosts. The human mind is a strange thing, and can trick itself into seeing or hearing things that aren't really there, based on the level of distress it's in at the time.
