    Atheists - I ask you...

I think that depends on the epistemological method you employ (slight tautology).

There's a simple question to be asked: How do you gain knowledge?

To generalize, atheists gain knowledge by reason and evidence.
Theists gain knowledge by reason, evidence and faith.

However, the problem is that theists prioritize faith over both evidence and reason. It's true, you don't need empirical evidence or reason to believe in something, but I daresay, you need them both to gain knowledge. Whether God exists is knowledge to be obtained, and employing faith as ones epistemology is where most people have problems. If people simply said 'I don't know, it makes me happy', then I don't think there would be much problem at all.

    Atheists - I ask you...

Being an atheist to me means that I don't accept anything to do with a creator that requires faith. If a religion came along that could repeatedly demonstrate their ability to tangibly prove that their god exists beyond doubt then I could accept that.

Like others have noted I don't believe in a God because there is no evidence that supports one existing, and the universe could logically exist without one given what has been proven and exists in well supported theories.

The problem is that as an atheist in order for "knowledge" to be gained it has to be proven in a repeatable manor for it to be factual. Theists often can gain knowledge based on single experiences where there is no other collaborating evidence.

Further more calling atheists ignorant is highly comical because hating religion is nothing to do with hating the indoctrinated believers, its hating the organization and its abuses of humanity from which nearly all religions have a gigantic messy history starting back to their inception. Its also comical because atheists don't shove non-believing upon believers, but it is extremely commonplace for the indoctrinated to spam their beliefs in an annoying harassing manor ESPECIALLY to those whose minds are still malleable (children) and force them down a path that, should they actually have learned more about they world, that they may not have chosen to take.

Live and let live is a poor methodology to live by. Indoctrination is extremely difficult to break free of as often most of your associates will shun you for leaving them. And altering the minds of children in a manor such as they do with their beliefs is sickening.

I think this quote sums it up:

"Religion is mind control. Atheism is a non-prophet organization."

I don't even call myself an atheist. I just think it's silly to believe in something that was fabricated to explain the unexplained.

Do you really believe that there's an individual that's able to answer the prayers of millions of people?

Why does god allow thousands of people to die each day. Why are people starving in Africa? It's not because they're poor, no it's because they've sinned. Right?

Also, if there is a god, is he the god of the universe? The universe is infinite, meaning that there are infinite amounts of life forms. What if they believe in a different god. Is your god the real one? They could believe that a piece of cheese is their god. Are they wrong for their beliefs?

    Religion is ignorance.

"God" has been conflated into meaninglessness, so "atheism" is no longer a useful term.
