Why is believing in a God bad?

The big bang theory makes no sense
Those bunch of scientists think they got evidence to prove it but they don't.

 

Yes. You however, cannot prove that God exists; you cannot prove that ghosts exist and finally you cannot prove that UFO's have exist. You have no solid proof of any of the mentioned above.

That wouldn't prove that ghosts exists, because pictures and movies can be fabricated or misinterpreted. UFOs however, do exist. An UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object, it could mean anything, throw a ball in the air and if someone can't identify what it is, its technically an UFO.

If there was indisputable evidence of Gods existence, I'd be a Theist. Not necessarily a Christian, Muslim or Jew unless if God him/herself told me which one had it right.

And no, philosophy, miracles, prophecies, etc doesn't prove the existence of God.

 

Believing in god is bad because you believe in something that probably isn't real. Also, religion starts wars.

i dont believe in god but i dont think its bad that u do. sure they start fights but religions tell u how to live a good life and a lot of people follow that. the thought of an all knowing figure that will punish u keeps people in line and decreases daily violence. u r also rewarded if u do something good. so if the thought of a god helps u sleep at night because eternal bliss is waiting for u if u die in ur sleep, then so be it. for me, no that doesnt do it

There is NOTHING WRONG with believing in a deity. People like shredder would debate you with logic. you cant debate spirituality with rationality. belief is a personal matter.

next: atheists who think believing in god is an indicator of lower intelligence are people who should be wiped off the planet. they are nothing short of arrogant and uneducated, and fail to realize that by storing all their belief in science, they are just as spineless as though who put all their faith in god.





All that being said, the matter of ORGANIZED religion is something different entirely. the turning of personal spirituality into a business is one of the biggest plagues the world suffers from. the problem is that uneducated people fresh from reading about the spanish inquisition on fucking wikipedia decide that God/individual faith is responsible for all the problems in the world. they are fucking retarded.

Are you sure you just don't understand it? Also, there are many more theories about how our universe is as it is. What about String Theory, for example?

If you don't understand something, you aren't in a position to judge it. Do you understand why you think a God exists? Is it because you have proof or is it because you have been told he does since your birth? I used to believe in God through to the fifth grade. Now I'm an Atheist, and I really quite hate "God", so even if there was proof I wouldn't follow him.

Why do I hate "God"? Was I given a choice to be born? Was I given a choice as to whether or not I would live forever in any realm or dimension? I hate the idea of eternal life. "Death is the ultimate liberation."

 

To be honest I believe out of fear, I don't want to risk going to hell and I'm pretty convinced God is real so I'm not taking risks not believing. Religion can be a pain though, having to follow all the rules, but it's worth it since you go to Heaven, at least that's what I believe so nobody spam me saying "you're not going to heaven because God isn't real" just don't do it, I know everyone is going to say that.

 

What if you're believing in the wrong god? Keep in mind, there's thousands of gods(according to mythology), the odds of picking the right one is incredibly low.

If one truly believes, and they harm nobody else, then the only negative thing is an abstract one, involving intellectual integrity, etc.

I hope that you've considered the possibility that they're probably more intelligent and possessed of better resources than you.
