What's the worst crime?

Murder is the obvious winner here. Property can be replaced, traumatic events can be dealt with through counseling, but nothing can bring back the dead.

What, exactly, is wrong with larger, faster-growing salmon? Too much cheap food to feed the poor?

 

Point well taken. I think murder is bad - even more so for families that it constantly happens too.

Threads like these gets nowhere because it's all opinionated. It's going to be the same answers from a lot of people.

 

There is no worst, its your own opinion and it can be uttered by other members preaching, doesn't matter as i will do the same.
Rape is the worst crime, you make the person live with it all live yet when you kill him he's dead, he doesn't feel anything.
The consequences with rape are humiliating him/her, mental torture etc.

 

The frankensalmon were sterile and killed all other fish in its ecosystem that was smaller than itself

1) genetically enhanced foods haven't been proven safe long-term
2) sterile means they'll die off if we don't pour money into continually manufacturing these because they can't reproduce
3) it'd endanger fish wildlife

Seriously though, this thread is ridiculous. Its ALL opinion based (based on where you grew up, who raised you, and society) as Wonder said. Should just lock this thread tbh.

 

A subjective question doesn't make for a poor debate. In fact, it's preferable, it weeds out lazy debaters who would otherwise google someone else's thoughts and data and stopper all original debate with "according to blshblahblah, x is y because of z." Or who otherwise think debates should have answers as easy as "underaged children shouldn't drink!!!"

 

I think its denying life, more specifically at an earlier age. Abortion/murder of inphants.

They have no say, they have no choice, they have no voice. They don't have the slightest of opportunity's to experience things.

On a serious note. Probably taking someones life(murder). Any violent crime against another human being really.

Rape and murder are bad and rape can even be used as torture but torture is definitely the worst.



People who should torture should get life in prison/death penalty I do not support death penalty/life for anyone else first offense (first murder/rape)

As a supporter of the first amendment I accept them and love how they are willing to say their beliefs. However I do not agree with anything they say. First amendment says you have the right to be a jackass if you want.

I think its also think its hard to pinpoint which crime is the worst. There are times where, in my eyes anyway, murder is acceptable, for instance when a terrorist is planning on killling innocent civillians, or when someone kills a repeat child molester. 7

But there are also people in jail for rape who are completely innocent, when, for instance, a guy has sex with a drunk girl, who was completely willing at the time, but later regrets it incase she is called a slut and claims she didn't consent and files criminal charges, all because she is too scared to admit the truth to her friends.

So yeah, I think all cases should be decided on an individual basis, but if you wanted me to decide between the two, I would always pick rape.

You know man, someone is dead then. That's very sad. If someone gets raped, he is still alive.

 

Rape. Child abuse. Murder. - They are the worst. Come under pretty much every serious crime. I could live with getting robbed... Being raped/abused as a child... Leaves scars i'd imagine.

 

IMHO, I'd say the worst crime would be any that can traumatize someone. Whether it be a family member, a friend, or even yourself.
You can kill someone, and get arrested, get sentenced to X amount of years, come out, and say your going to restart your life. But you've just traumatized the victims family, and friends.
Referring to the school massacre, the killer(s) (Haven't really followed up on the story, but I've heard rumours about another person?) have pretty much killed a child that could've impacted the world. As well, with us becoming numb to deaths and whatnot, and having to hear it daily, and thinking its something that shouldn't really be 'cared' about, this massacre has traumatized a huge portion of the world.

 

The law would say shit like Fraud and Scandles. I'd say rape, murder, and child molestation. All those should get the death penalty tbh, it would send a message for people to stop being so fucked up.

 

Yes it does, because with a purely subjective question there is literally nothing to debate. Nothing to debunk or challenge with reasoning or evidence.

Explaining what you think is right and what is wrong, what is bad and what is worse is simply something that can't be debated effectively.
