as far as the pm goes, I feel that people would just think it's a popup or something, close the window without even looking at it, and never get the PM. Just a thought..

 

Don't you still receive the PM even though you close the pop-up notification

I feel like it's a really good idea. This private message could also include helpful links and guides, etc. regarding safety and the market.

 

I Support the automatic PM, as long as its well put together and practical. I wouldnt necessarily make it too long, gets too boring to read. Just a few things "You" as a Sythe User should view before Making Sales or even Buying. Or before posting at that.

 

Seems like a good idea, just because then you will know that that email is actually from Sythe too, so people can mark sure its not marked as spam etc.

 

Yes! I love this suggestion, I think it would be a great idea. If it was well made, I think it'll help a lot of new users with trivial issues.

I'm assuming those donation PMs Matthew sends out are automatic, I don't think it would be too hard to implement, but I'm too sure.

 

An automatic PM with the rules, some general stuff etc would be much more effective.

I think the Automatic PM would be better not many check the emails they recieve. But either way it would be helpfull me as a newcommer had a hard time finding the report a scammer section!

I totally agree with this, i've just joined Sythe and have no trouble finding my way, but there are people out there who could use the push in the right direction.
Good idea.

 

From a newcomers point of view...

Necessary? Not really. We can find everything pretty much in a few minutes.
However...it would be great for info about FAQ and stuff.

 

Not everyone finds things as quickly as you may have. Once you have been here a while you will start to see that the amount of people who just blindly post without reading the rules, people who get scammed because they did not know the proper trading precautions, and people who just have no idea whats going on starts to add up rather quickly.

A PM like this wouldn't help everyone but I think that even if it helps a few people who take the time to read it through, its worth it.

I agree, like mentioned in the comments a link to a "noob guide" and links somewhere in there/The email to "Report a Scammer" as there seem to be lots of threads such as "so and so scammed me" in completely wrong sections this could save moderators time and spare the expense of the Scammer receiving no harm done.
