"Transgender" = mentally ill

I personally agree that being a "transgender" is a mentall illness. One's sense of self being opposite of their biological gender..?

Totally sounds like a mental illness. I really don't care what any liberal has to state on the matter.

That being said, I wouldn't judge someone who's a transgender negatively. It doesn't mean they lack intellect/identity/personality.

 

Based on his credentials, he would be dubbed an authority on the matter. Even if there were a lack of credible individuals throwing in their two cents on the subject, all that is required to debate this is logical thinking.

My challenge and question still stands regarding those who wish to have their perfectly healthy limbs removed simply because they "feel" like X limb doesn't belong to them. Are we going to label them perfectly mentally healthy? Should we throw all logical reasoning to the wind while they hide behind the facade of "rights, rights, right!" No, absolutely not. To any sane individual this should be looked at as a very serious public health threat to our young and developing children who are bombarded with PC garbage regarding something that is a biological truth; you are born with a penis, you are male, if you are born with a vagina, you are female; females have two X chromosomes, males have an X and a Y pairing. These are fundamental, biological, truths of nature itself, and should not be trampled upon by "exceptions to the rule," such as bogus arguments that because little Susie was born with an extremely rare condition regarding chromosomes, the exception does not trample upon the rule. This is indeed a mental health crisis that is arising and should not be looked at as anything BUT a mental health crisis.

 

Buncha internet psychologists in this thread eh? Does anyone other than OP have anything substantial to bring to the debate? Anything to support the claims going on in this thread?

I have yet to take a side but so far I have yet to see or read anything empirical that would prove that this is in fact a mental illness that should be treated and not encouraged. OP's article is also problematic in its wording - it states that transgendered individuals believe that sex is a matter of opinion, which it isn't, and transgendered people do not deny that. Sex is biological and gender is sociological. It's even in the label - transgenderism. They believe they are of the gender opposite to their sex. Again I have yet to see how that is a mental illness, so if anyone has some documentation to support their claims that'd be grand.

 

Honestly no one really gives a fuck. It's embarrassing that this ignorant shit is even news. I hope the liberals keep pushing this issue. See what happens if they try implementing this in the south. CNN will be littered with transgender murder mysteries for Nancy Grace to solve... They'l probably build a transgender memorial in honor of the victims. Of course no one will be able to tell what the fuck it is though..

 

The issue you've got is it isn't the norm, therefore its "outlandish" and "weird" and people do not like change, it's a part of human nature.

I've noticed a rise in transgender individuals around the city I live in as of late. It's interesting, because it's not what everyone would class as normal, but I don't have an issue with it. It's not my life, not my mind so who are we to judge. I'm quite cynical when it comes to certain what people class as "mental illness" because I am a firm believer in difference and individuality, which with some things are seen as a form of illness because its "not what everyone else does/feels".

I identify myself as disliking transgenders and the enormous ego's. I dont want them using the same restroom as kids or opposite sex. I demand a normal bathroom.... (I dont really dislike them just proving a point) - Though I do believe theyre completely fucking nuts.

You can easily flip the script. How many times do we appease liberal bullshit? Before it's all said and done will have 25 different bathroom options. Business's will close because they cant keep remodeling. Hell liberals might get so offended they ask to have public restrooms removed altogether because it's "offensive". This kind of shit never stops, it continues to evolve. People wonder why the average, blue collar American is voting for Trump. Average people are fucking tired of this EXTREME liberal nonsense controlling our country.

 

Why do you not want them using the same toilets, why does it matter? It's only normal because either:

a) You've been brought up to know that 'men' use the mens and 'women' use the womens.
b) That's what has always happened, and therefore is the only and correct way by that logic.

The only transgender people I know or have met have been quite quiet and timid individuals, and have never spouted any alternative views or forced opinion upon myself. You must have just had some bad luck. The views of one are not the views of many, i.e Neo-nazi's, the KKK, IS etc.

It's not appeasing it's at the end of the day, emphasizing and seeing things from a different perspective. Not everyone is you, learn to adapt and educate yourself. Ignorance is not an answer.

 

I dont have any issues with transgender people at all. I was just making a generalized counter argument. I admit it was poorly thought through. I woke up and baked a bowl and went on a rant. I dont care what transgender people do or want to do. I just believe people should use their respective bathrooms. I dont think creating a 3rd, 4th, 5th option is viable solution. I also find it embarrassing that this is a news worthy conversation.

 

Even if there was a study completed that found evidence that it is indeed a mental illness, one could still debate it based on the fact that the study sample sizes in psychological studies are tremendously small and do not by any means speak for a large population or take into account prior experiences (childhood, genetics, family history, etc.).

To be honest, the way this whole "issue" is publicized is absolutely sickening. People have the right to choose how to live.

 

The burden of proof lies that gender exists lies on the person making the claim.

 

Transgender people are delusional. If you are born a man, and got your pemis wacked off, that doesn't make you a female. It made you a crazy male who got his penis wacked off.

 

Wait it's not a mental illness? Stuff it, tomorrow I'm waking up with the mindset "I'm a female trapped in a males body" and I'm not going to say otherwise since you can't read my mind and will never know my life is complete trash and I need the extra attention somehow!!!

I don't care if someone's transgendered and I don't believe transgendered people should be discriminated in any way.

I judge people based on merit. If they're cool, they're cool. If not, then they can fuck off. Same goes for everyone else.

Personally, I don't believe in mutilation of oneself (Female to male, ect.) But literally this can happen to anyone, being homosexual/transgender/identity crisis, whatever. What happens if your child is born with something like this, a friend, a close family member? You can't be condemned to be a bigot your whole life. Just because you catogorize into the "norm" of society, doesn't mean you can act like you're perfect and blatantly go out of your way to hurt other people.

I don't care what anyone does, as long as:
A. Over the age of 18
B. Consenting
C. Not hurting people around them that are unwilling

I totally understand the argument of "I don't want my children in the same bathroom as them", I agree. That's why there is usually a "Family restroom" which either party can use. Reguardless of what laws, ect. people are still going to break the law and there is always going to be sexual predators. Not everyone is out to get you, some people are just trying to use a bathroom. Lol

 

I've met a few transgender. One of them still doesn't feel satisfied even after he is basically a girl now. And he keeps changing his name it's really odd, crazy like even.

 

Honestly I dont think it is a "mental illness" people use those words loosely, If you go by that logic then our world is mostly ran my narssasistic physcopaths as it has been proven...look into that...I think in the future as science peels back the curtian of our past and future we will understand that reincarnation is real and these trans/gay people were indeed the opposite sex in a past life.

 

In my opinion you can't truly justify transgender individuals to have a mental illnesses just because of modern publicity.
