Gender is a state of being a male or female.

This is why your gender does not always correlate to your sex, or do you just not understand this?

Gender -> The state of being M/F -> Masculine/Feminine -> Gender -> The state of being M/F

This is circular reasoning.

Your gender can be female, and your sex can be male.

gen·der - the state of being male or female

The "state" of being a male is being masculine, and the "state" of being a female is feminine.

Define Masculine and Feminine.

You must be joking. I'm not going to continually give you definitions

Notice how you won't address my claim that the state of being a male is having a penis, and the state of being a female is having a vagina, you just give circular definitions without defining the state of being male, the state of being female, masculine gender or feminine gender (WHICH YOU CLAIM BATHROOMS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SEPARATED BY).

This is very nauseating. Here is another source that explains what I'm saying in vivid detail.

For many people, the terms “gender” and “sex” are used interchangeably, and thus incorrectly. This idea has become so common, particularly in western societies, that it is rarely questioned. We are born, assigned a sex, and sent out into the world. For many people, this is cause for little, if any dissonance. Yet biological sex and gender are different; gender is not inherently nor solely connected to one’s physical anatomy.

Biological Gender (sex) includes physical attributes such as external genitalia, sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, and internal reproductive structures. At birth, it is used to assign sex, that is, to identify individuals as male or female. Gender on the other hand is far more complicated. It is the complex interrelationship between an individual’s sex (gender biology), one’s internal sense of self as male, female, both or neither (gender identity) as well as one’s outward presentations and behaviors (gender expression) related to that perception, including their gender role. Together, the intersection of these three dimensions produces one’s authentic sense of gender, both in how people experience their own gender as well as how others perceive it.

Gender does not mean masculine or feminine, nor did I say it did so stop with strawman. This is gender role terminology which differentiates gender from sex.

Gender Role : This is the set of roles, activities, expectations and behaviors assigned to females and males by society. Our culture recognizes two basic gender roles: Masculine (having the qualities attributed to males) and feminine (having the qualities attributed to females). People who step out of their socially assigned gender roles are sometimes referred to as transgender. Other cultures have three or more gender roles.

It appears you think I'm defending the notion that because bathroom symbols refer to gender rather than sex, that transgender people would be able to use the bathroom they feel they identify the most with, but this wasn't the case. There are gender bathroom rules that apply to different bathrooms at a particular location, some preventing the misuse of one that doesn't align with your sex. Continue to manipulate my words though.

AH! FINALLY WE HAVE A DEFINITION!

So gender is a blend of
-Sex
-"Internal sense of self"
-Gender Role : Masculine (having the qualities attributed to males) and feminine (having the qualities attributed to females).

So what qualities are attributed to males, and what qualities are attributed to females?

Okay, so gender is a blend of your biological sex, your internal sense of self, how dependent you are, how emotional you are, how passive you are, how sensitive you are, how quiet you are, how graceful you are, how innocent you are, how strong you are, how flirtatious you are, how nurturing you are, how self critical you are, how soft you are, how sexually dominant you are, how accepting you are, how clumsy you are, how experienced you are, and how rebellious you are.

So why are bathrooms separated that way instead of whether or not that person has a penis or a vagina? Wouldn't there be absolutely no way whatsoever to distinguish a person's gender, thus making two bathrooms redundant?

You asked for qualities attributed to that of a male and a female that align with masculinity and femininity.

Having a penis does not make you masculine, nor does having a vagina make you feminine.

Yeah you gave them. And my question to you was: If bathrooms were separated by gender, wouldn't there be absolutely no way whatsoever to distinguish a person's gender, thus making gender separated bathrooms redundant?

The process of determining which bathroom to use isn't thoroughly done by self-examination. I just gave the difference between gender and sex, since you didn't seem to understand all too well.

Males and females look different, so how wouldn't we be able to distinguish the two? You're really reaching here.

You told me that gender is a blend of your biological sex, your internal sense of self, how dependent you are, how emotional you are, how passive you are, how sensitive you are, how quiet you are, how graceful you are, how innocent you are, how strong you are, how flirtatious you are, how nurturing you are, how self critical you are, how soft you are, how sexually dominant you are, how accepting you are, how clumsy you are, how experienced you are, and how rebellious you are.

You haven't explained why bathrooms would be separated in this way.

Males and females look different, so how wouldn't we be able to distinguish the two? You're really reaching here.

How does a male look and how does a female look? How can you determine how clumsy a person is by looking at them? How can you determine how sexually dominant they are by sight?

You're really reaching hard because you have no rebuttal to what I'm saying. You're listing attributes to what makes someone masculine and what makes someone feminine. In case you forgot what you've said (which happens quite often), I'll post it again for you.

So gender is a blend of
-Sex
-"Internal sense of self"
-Gender Role : Masculine (having the qualities attributed to males) and feminine (having the qualities attributed to females).

You acknowledge that gender is a blend of these 3 things, but continuously focus on one of the 3 at an attempt to give your position substance.

How does a male look and how does a female look? How can you determine how clumsy a person is by looking at someone? How can you determine how sexually dominant they are by sight?

Reaching again, read above.

You haven't given any reason yet for your claim that bathrooms are separated by gender to rebut: I'll ask again, and hopefully you will answer so I can have something to rebut: Why would bathrooms be separated by gender instead of by sex? You haven't given any reason why people with different combinations of 15 personality traits would have any reason to have separate bathrooms from each other.

No, I'm not focusing on any one of the three. I have asked you multiple times: Why would bathrooms be separated by gender?

Reaching again, read above.

"Reaching" is not an answer to the question "How does a male look?" or "How does a female look?"

How will I know if a female is pissing in the urinal next to me by sight?

Urinary segregation is a term used to refer to the separation of public toilets into the gender categories of male and female. In the United States, gender-based separation of public restrooms began in the late 19th century as a response to women not having toilets available to them in the workplace. In contemporary times, this separation is typically enforced by both city laws and building codes. Key differences between male and female restrooms in most western countries include the presence of urinals for men and sanitary bins for the disposal of female sanitary waste for women.

What definition do you want now?

I didn't ask for a definition, I asked for a reason to back up your claim that bathrooms are separated by gender, and that you can recognize a male gendered person or female gendered person on sight.

So I ask again for a REASON, not a definition. We spent a whole page trying to get you to define the word "Gender" which is central to your argument that you used in the first post without ever defining. So now that you finally defined that gender is a blend of your biological sex, your internal sense of self, how dependent you are, how emotional you are, how passive you are, how sensitive you are, how quiet you are, how graceful you are, how innocent you are, how strong you are, how flirtatious you are, how nurturing you are, how self critical you are, how soft you are, how sexually dominant you are, how accepting you are, how clumsy you are, how experienced you are, and how rebellious you are, answer your claims:

Why would bathrooms be separated by gender? How can you identify a male gendered person by sight, and a female gendered person by sight?

TEMPLATE FOR YOU TO USE:

-We need 2 bathrooms and they need to be separated by gender because

-You can identify a male gendered person on sight by

-You can identify a female gendered person on sight by

I DIDN'T GIVE A DEFINITION, I SAID WHAT DEFINITION DO YOU WANT NOW AS A JOKE BECAUSE YOU'RE ALWAYS ASKING FOR ONE. STOP IGNORING THE CONTENT IN MY POSTS. EVERYTHING YOU'RE ASKING FOR IS LITERALLY IN THE SOURCED QUOTE I GAVE.

Stop with the strawman please.

Okay, how is the concept of "This bathroom is for penises, this bathroom is for vaginas" so complex?

Never seen a penis or vagina symbol on a bathroom door before. I've only seen male and female.

Are you familiar with the anatomies of male and female organisms?

Yes, although the images on the door typically reference gender since there isn't a sex symbol (♂/♀) on the door. Gender isn't a biological classification.

Male and Female are sex classifications.

Again, you're not understanding. Your gender can be female, and your sex can be male. The symbol on the door references gender, not sex.

Please come to understand how the conversation started. The symbol on the bathroom door references gender, not sex.

Can you please provide me with the sex symbol of a male and female?

Now, just once, just ONCE, give a reason for your claims here:

This is hilarious. I gave you an explanation for why bathrooms were segregated in the US, and it's recognized as gendered base because of the fluidity of the term gender.

Urinals are suited towards males, and bins are suited towards females because these genders are the most prevalent.

-We need 2 bathrooms and they need to be separated by gender because

We actually don't need bathrooms to be separated. It's just a universal cultural demand.

-You can identify a male gendered person on sight by

It's not simple. A female can easily pass off as a male, and a male can easily pass off as a female if they have the right body/face structure.

I identify as a lightbulb and need to be provided with a lamp to pee in. That's about how I see Trans. Too much hormones pumped into food nowadays, estrogen/testosterone/social pressure making all these people think they are something they just can't be. I don't blame or judge anyone, people can only turn out one way because of their circumstances, but I won't be showing up at any rallies.

So we have 2 bathrooms that are separated by gender, and genders can easily pass for the other gender? How does face/body structure indicate how sexually dominant or how clumsy they are?

There are many reasons for this, one of them being, you're more comfortable in a personal setting around people the same gender as yourself.

So we have 2 bathrooms that are separated by gender, and genders can easily pass for the other gender? How does face/body structure indicate how sexually dominant or how clumsy they are?

A male can easily pass off as a female if they can get their face/body to look more feminine and vice versa.

Hey... this isnt a fun rank
I personally do not think it's a mental illness... I mean a lot of gay guys are gay because they're a woman born in a mans body, and many of them undergo transformations... My personal understanding is transgender means the same thing, except instead of a girl in a mans body, they're a lesbian in a mans body and vice versa.

As for the bathroom situation...

I've got a little bit of an opinion... If women get surgery and look like a man... beard, voice, dick, etc etc... And I saw her coming out of a bathroom that my daughter was in, I wouldn't stop to ask if she used to be a woman, I'd just break her jaw on the spot.

Now I don't mean women who make themselves look manly with their hair and clothing... I mean a woman who undergoes surgery to be a man. It wouldn't even pop into my head that "he may have been a woman at birth", the only thought I'd have is "that man just came out of the womens restroom that my child is in".

But now, if it was a transgender woman who HASN'T undergone surgery and is still a woman, I also wouldn't be very happy to find her in the men's room... I wouldn't complain, because hey, a woman in the mens room isn't a a "horrible" thing... But now, a man who thinks he should be a woman, but is still a man, uses the women's bathroom, same scenario as a woman that looks like a man.
