Go forward in time before you procreate. your grandson shoots you while your in the future- a paradox is born, how can the grandson have shot you if you werent alive to make his father? sooo yeah paradoxes can't be overcome sadly life isn't a sci-fi movie time travel= impossible.

Verified. This is key. I'd give it to the year 3000 for us to get to this with ease. Considering advancements from 1 AD to current day..

 

Traveling at the speed of light would cause you and your whole ship/plane to turn into a spec billions of times more dense than a diamond, crushing you and killing you. You do realize this?

 

I know I agree you would never survive, so time travel is impossible, if it wasn't I would do everything like in Hot Tub Time Machine

The literal idea of time travel in the sense that science fiction gives us, is impossible. Mainly because, Atoms have a direct set movement and a constant speed. So if we could take every atom and follow it and decide how others paths would affect it we would be able to tell where that one atom would be within 50 years. Now this makes it possible to TELL the future, however this also shows us that every atom has a direct placement in the past,present, and future.

So a paradox arises, if a specific number of atoms are present in one area during the past, than if someone goes back to the past it is presenting an entirely new set of atoms and matter and since no 2 pieces of matter can exist in the same space at the exact same time:
(Example: Say in 1950 at 12:00am on a Wednesday there's a stop sign at the end of a road, now in 2010 that stop sign may be gone, but if we were to travel back to 1950 it would be there, and its spot would be occupied by the atoms of the stop sign and the particles around it, even though we cant see them they still take up space.)

Surprisingly enough, this does bring up a terrifying yet intriguing thought...all of our movements, all of our actions, our lifes, are all predictable. If you think of this from a purely molecular point of view that is.
