The thread disproves god entirely

Your rationalizing. Have you talked to god? Did he tell you this? Your just making this up as you go.

Give me evidence, other than your magical book of fairy tales, that our closest ancestor was made from dirt... 6,000 years ago.

I'll clear up the God is everywhere yet isn't thing. I'll use a simple example. Air, we need air to live, air is everywhere, like God is everywhere, yet, we can choose not to breath, or in this case, choose to not believe in God or open up to Him. Then, if we don't get air, we die, in this case, the affect would be evil becomes of it. Although not the best example, I think you'll see my point. Just because we don't breath and die, doesn't mean air isn't all around us, it just means, we choose, by our free will, to not breath.

I've seen a whole lot of evil done in the name of God. The Bible talks of times when the Israelites raided enemy camps and slaughtered the children and then took the virgins for themselves, all under God's direction. I see God present in that situation, and I see evil.

God does show Himself, all the time, it's just, if you aren't looking, you won't see it. There are people who have been told they only have a few hours left to live, or that, they will never recover. Yet, they do, by all science, no matter how you look at it, they say it's impossible, yet, a miracle happened, and, science cannot proove it. Are you saying that, that was not real? That there has to be a reason to why the person got better and survived, even though all the docters, all the tests, everything known to them told them he would die? Well maybe that's how God is, we don't know, and we never will, but does that mean He doesn't exist? You tell me.

Just because someone survives a fatal injury or disease doesn't mean it has to be supernatural. There are certainly a lot of things about the human body and disease that we don't know, which would hinder us explaining these "miracles". As for God "showing himself", I've been in situations like that before, and after it was all said and done, I realized it was just made up. I got all worked up and after I came down off of the religious high, everything was the same. The world was just as it was before, as it was after every religious experience I ever had. Saying that God only shows himself but you can't see it is like the fable of the jacket that you can only see if you are a prestigious person, or however the story goes. In the end, everyone finds out that there really was no jacket, and everyone was just fooling themselves so that they wouldn't look bad in front of the others.

1 phrase for you moronic debaters over the issue of god:

"Who cares?"

Really, for 1, you can't disprove something that isn't real. So that eliminates the entire point of this thread.

For 2, God doesn't exist... even your bible tells you that... He doesn't exist... he just... is.

So, you can't disprove what is just "is", nor can you prove it. so the entire point of fighting over it is entirely ... pointless.

To further issues, what you define as God's workings are not. I won't say he doesn't help, or doesn't push things along (Personally, I'm buddhist and pagan), but he can NOT interfere with the workings by his own law. He has given free will, and as such... he cannot AID in physical pain. Mind over matter. He does AID many people in mental issues, and that is where the assistance comes from. Everyone has the potential to overcome any pain, if they truly set their mind to it, and work as hard as they fucking can..

Using God in your mind to help the matter, or for support, is truly what is happening.. Nothing more, nothing less.

Point is, this issue is non-debatable, and non-disprovable. You can't try, you can think that you will, but you'll only fail. So don't worry about it.. no one cares.. Let those who have their religion, have their religion. Let those who are athiests believe as they will.

In the end, we'll see who's right... when we don't exist as well.

this is bull, name the spot in the bible, God has had the israelites set up war camps and kill ppl but never kill children or any inocents. and back then they were al virgans till marige other wise u were stoned, and they took them lawfuly through marrige not by force....u dont waht u talking about dont miss quote the bible.

idc what you show..you will always have the ignorants (religious) who fail to believe anything

Crusades.

What!? If something is perfect, nothing imperfect can come from it. Someone once said that bad fruit cannot come from a good tree, and yet this "perfect" God created a "perfect" universe which was rendered imperfect by the "perfect" humans. The ultimate source of imperfection is God. What is perfect cannot become imperfect, so humans must have been created imperfect. What is perfect cannot create anything imperfect, so God must be imperfect to have created these imperfect humans. A perfect God who creates imperfect humans is impossible.

This paragraph is where your whole arguement goes down the drain. Who says something perfect can't create something imperfect, if that perfect diety so chooses? Prove that one part, and your arguement has merit (even though it's not your arguement in the first place). Perfection is accepted to be "better than" or "greater than" imperfection. Therefore, perfection CAN create imperfection, if He so chooses.

Hosea 13:16 said:
Samaria shall bear her guilt; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
Numbers 31:17-18 said:
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women-children, that have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Happy now?

what the hell is the book hosea??? what religeons bible was that taken from? anyway, as for the other one it said to kill the women who had slept with the evil men, and to spare the inocent

That was the most ignorant quote from a Christian I have ever heard...and I'm a Christian...

Ezekiel..Daniel...HOSEA...Joel..Amos...Obedia..Jonah..Micah..etc...

LMAO! In denial are we? It says nothing about "evil" men, and it said spare the virgins so they could have them for themselves.

ohh thats the one, i know the books but iwas pronouncing it wrong, sry i dont know the bible as wel las i should...ok..so mabe God is alittle harsh...
(btw dpunk who old are you? cause u really know ur shit o.O)

God does exist. Who cares, that may be something that can "disprove God entirely..." but what about those things that "prove God entirely?"

There are things that can turn against this thread. =)

If God doesn't exist? How are we created? From another religious God? From a coincidence? From what?

Dpunk knows his shit because dpunk rocks, even if he isn't a Christian. He actually gives a crap about stuff he's arguing about.

Spereff, not very helpful towards this debate...

Only 16, but as Haemon from the play Antigone once said, "If I am young, you should look to my merits and not my years." I like to take the time to make sure I know as much as I can about things before I decide what is the truth. I've only been an Atheist for about 6 months, but that short time has been enough to open my eyes. A lot of it comes from things I read, and videos I watch. If you want some great sites on the subject, try:
godisimaginary.com
whywontgodhealamputees.com
jovialatheist.com
http://hem.passagen.se/nicb/atheism.htm if you want some long ass essays

There are many others, but those are just the ones I've found browsing forums and such.

Thank you, your arguments earn my respect as well, since you debate like a man and don't defect to shitty arguments.

You CALL that helpful too? That's just a comment, not really contributing to the thread either. =(

Show me ONE thing that proves God's existence beyond a reasonable doubt and I guarantee you I will convert. As for being created, who said that everything that is had to be created to exist?

Heyheyhey...there will be no atheistic evangelism in this house. Go take a time out young man.

Those sites have some pretty good arguments, but I promise you there's a rebuttal for each one. If you want to hear them, start a thread on one of them, like the "why doesn't god heal amputees" one. I've gone through a debate about that one before and have some pretty good answers.

And since you posted atheistic site, I'll just have to post some Christian sites:

www.planetwisdom.com <<awesome site, I go to their conferences and camp every year, got some great info and great Christian world views.

www.focusonthefamily.com <<now cmon, you know you listened to adventures in oddyssey when you were a kid.

www.lemonvsorange.blogspot.com <<my blog, has a lot to do with apologetics, mainly predestination.
