The thread disproves god entirely

Your rationalizing. Have you talked to god? Did he tell you this? Your just making this up as you go.

Give me evidence, other than your magical book of fairy tales, that our closest ancestor was made from dirt... 6,000 years ago.

 

I've seen a whole lot of evil done in the name of God. The Bible talks of times when the Israelites raided enemy camps and slaughtered the children and then took the virgins for themselves, all under God's direction. I see God present in that situation, and I see evil.

Just because someone survives a fatal injury or disease doesn't mean it has to be supernatural. There are certainly a lot of things about the human body and disease that we don't know, which would hinder us explaining these "miracles". As for God "showing himself", I've been in situations like that before, and after it was all said and done, I realized it was just made up. I got all worked up and after I came down off of the religious high, everything was the same. The world was just as it was before, as it was after every religious experience I ever had. Saying that God only shows himself but you can't see it is like the fable of the jacket that you can only see if you are a prestigious person, or however the story goes. In the end, everyone finds out that there really was no jacket, and everyone was just fooling themselves so that they wouldn't look bad in front of the others.

Really, for 1, you can't disprove something that isn't real. So that eliminates the entire point of this thread.

For 2, God doesn't exist... even your bible tells you that... He doesn't exist... he just... is.


So, you can't disprove what is just "is", nor can you prove it. so the entire point of fighting over it is entirely ... pointless.


To further issues, what you define as God's workings are not. I won't say he doesn't help, or doesn't push things along (Personally, I'm buddhist and pagan), but he can NOT interfere with the workings by his own law. He has given free will, and as such... he cannot AID in physical pain. Mind over matter. He does AID many people in mental issues, and that is where the assistance comes from. Everyone has the potential to overcome any pain, if they truly set their mind to it, and work as hard as they fucking can..

Using God in your mind to help the matter, or for support, is truly what is happening.. Nothing more, nothing less.

Point is, this issue is non-debatable, and non-disprovable. You can't try, you can think that you will, but you'll only fail. So don't worry about it.. no one cares.. Let those who have their religion, have their religion. Let those who are athiests believe as they will.


In the end, we'll see who's right... when we don't exist as well.

This paragraph is where your whole arguement goes down the drain. Who says something perfect can't create something imperfect, if that perfect diety so chooses? Prove that one part, and your arguement has merit (even though it's not your arguement in the first place). Perfection is accepted to be "better than" or "greater than" imperfection. Therefore, perfection CAN create imperfection, if He so chooses.

Those sites have some pretty good arguments, but I promise you there's a rebuttal for each one. If you want to hear them, start a thread on one of them, like the "why doesn't god heal amputees" one. I've gone through a debate about that one before and have some pretty good answers.
