Judging by your grammar and vocabulary skills, you would be lucky to be able write a 3 page book.

And you should also get your facts right. God did not write 1 word out of the Bible, it was all written by man, based on God's teachings.

    For those who know God, no proof is necessary;
For those who reject God, no proof is enough.

True and not true. there is a god and his name is Chuck freaking norris lol just kidding, but truely there is no reason to beleve in 'god' people go by a "painting" ; "visions". "A book" Wow? How logical is that?

You could turn that around, and say:

For those who know God, no proof (that he doesn't exist) is enough.
For those who don't believe in God, no proof is necessary.

Believing in God generally goes against logic. Since, however, most religious people were raised religious, such an ingrained belief is hard to wipe out through logic.

Ya and they go around giving their lives for him, devoting themselves to him. And at the beginning of this thread the statement "This thread disproves God entirely." isnt that ALL based on a book?

Wow really hung me by my own statement against atheists.
And no it's can't be said that way because I happen to be content with my religious life and don't need evidence do strengthen my beliefs.
Most of the time a lot of you atheists and such (including the guy who started this thread) always want us to give evidence of our God.
And always show false proof that he is not real.
Going against logic? More like being an idealist not a freaking contexualist buddy...

Yes, I feel that religious people should be able to substantiate their God. Why would you believe in something if it had never been proven true in the first place?

False proof? More like indisputable logic.

If being a human being is being unable to accept the harsh realities of the universe, and ignoring obvious logical errors in the theory of a loving God who throws sinners into Hell, then yes, believing in God is human.

Are you prepared to realize that no one in this entire Universe is watching out for you? No one is going to find enternal peace?
Are you prepared to accept the fact that one day you, your family, your friends are just gonna die, rot in the ground and wait for some maggots to skull fuck you?
I believe in the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit because I believe that the Universe wasn't made out of a bunch o' fucking coincidences that you call indisputable proof, I call just as much a load as you saying my Lord Jesus Christ didn't die for my sins and were all gonna rot in the ground one day!
It's called thinking out of the box.
Usually people who think like that happen to be very successful in life.
    TRY IT SOMETIME.

Funny... I see not believing in God to be the true denial of the "harsh realities of the universe". People want to live a smug and carefree life without the worries of what lies in death and the potential consequences thereof.
While you would say people need God for those exact reasons.

Just figured I'd give you a dose of your own medicine and "turn it around". ;)

Mmm kay. Based on what? I say the complete opposite.

FYI, the Bible, along with person accounts from thousands of people, act as a couple measly reasons to believe a God may exist.
    Get some sense....

The only reason people need a God is because that people know they are going to die, and naturally want to find a way around it. Some people just can't get it through their heads that once they die, that's all there is. Since humans have evolved to be the most dominant species on the planet, our ego takes over and we think that there must be some higher purpose for us.

Lawn gnomes and pink flamingos being present act as measly reasons to believe that lawn gnomes may rape pink flamingos, but does that give us any real reason to believe that they do?

Wow couldn't have said it better, atheists say we're trying to comfort ourselves about life after death, but atheists just want to live life and comfort themselves thinking there will be no punishment. From what i've picked up.

No thread can truly prove or disprove the existence of God. The fact is, God cannot be proved or disproved... that is the beauty of his (her?) essence. It is all based on personal faith and belief. The thread title is a paradox in itself, for something that cannot even be proven, cannot be disproved.

You can't disprove it, but you can poke fun at the lack of evidence for it. You can't completely know 100% that there is no God, but for every practical situation you can.

That doesn't apply to me, therefore it's wrong, even if it may apply to most people.
I don't find nothingness to necessarily be a bad thing as you do. So what's the reason for my "need" of God?
Our egos are so big that we want to believe we are the lowly creations of a being (or beings, in some religions) that are more superior and powerful than we could ever hope to be? I understand now!
    Firstly, that's only one "reason".
Secondly, how does existence imply raping?
Now, if there were a book written thousands of years ago describing such rapes, and thousands of people bearing witness of having seen it... now that'd be a couple reasons to believe that it may actually happen.

It's a subconscious thing. When I believed, I didn't have any reason to other than I thought that it was the truth, or so I thought.

Or, our egos are so big that we believe that we are the only ones that get special treatment from a divine being (in most cases). What about the animals? Sure there's cows in Hinduism, and other animals, but why do humans have to be the ones that God seems to care about the most? What makes us so special?

You first need existence in order to have raping. It's a start. With the concept of God, you don't even have the fact whether he exists or not established or not. A pink flaming that exists has a better chance of doing anything than a God who doesn't.

    Ever read/seen terry pratchet's hogfather?
God only exists because people believe in him, we will never come to a stage where nobody believes in god. so god does exist in theory.
    Im completly atheist.
