Well, the thing is we arent selling drugs. It isnt illegal, just against runescape rules. So i've had my fair share of breaking runescape rules, does it make me a dick head? no not really.

Yup, when tempted with large amounts of money, you will break eventually

Definetly agree 100% I think that scammers are given the opportunity to scam too frequently.

I agree with this one hundred percent. This is the best idea I have ever seen posted around sythe. You say it will mean less traffic to the website? I think not. There are a few things that will get someone hooked into a forum. Usually the first thing is post count, say on sythe.org, they want to become a "Full Member" rather than a "leacher" that everyone despises. You need a "hook" on your website, and something that makes your website better than another. For example, sythe is better because it has more people to buy and sell from, and a well organized administration system. Another "hook" is ranks, administration, moderators, donators, ect. Another "hook" is vouches. Vouches are probobly the biggest reason someone will stay with sythe.org rather than going to another website. Building up trust. I would like to twist your idea a bit into an idea of my own. There is a new rank for "blackmarket trader".

To be a blackmarket trader you need 100 or more posts, and 1 week of being on sythe.org, a month seems a bit too much. After you have these requirements, there will be an thread where you can post to request blackmarket access. The moderators there will just quickly skip over your posts and accept or decline you. If this becomes too big of a job for moderators...guru blackmarket traders could perhaps accept/decline applications. Otherwise it could just be instant if this becomes a problem. I can see a few problems in my mind but they can be easily fixed. This would actually add another "hook" to the website, so leecher's who just feel like selling an account then leaving the website, get hooked and stay. This would mean more active sythe users in all areas of the community, and less scammers. The few scammers left would be a lot easier to deal with.

I think this is an idea that should be sincerely considered. I will post it if you give me your permission to use your idea (in the suggestions thread).

    Sincerely,
    Snowboard-Ninja

I think that we should definitely elaborate and discuss this idea first before we make it an official suggestion. See what others have to say before we wrap our heads around the idea, but I'm definitely up for it :)

I also like the idea that you used "Applications", which is another good idea for the black market. Because once your out and you scam, its not so easy to get back in.

    Very nice.

Okay guys, help us brainstorm. If we all put our heads together we could get rid of the larger portion of scammers on this website.

    Blue Summer, I congratulate you.

You have the audacity to come out and actually express your thoughts whether or not they could be offending to the staff, community, etc...

I actually agree with what you have said, there are many scammers on Sythe that are not banned even thought they have solid evidence against them. This disheartens me because then other people will fall victim to the scammer.

Again, I applaud you for creating this thread to help people become more aware of the community we call Sythe has become.

Thanks for the support. But just for your information that's not macroman's post, that's an edited picture of mine to show what a blackmarket trader will look like.

Hopefully the moderators & Sythe are still reading this thread, maybe put in some feedback of our "Applications to Black Market".

Also, to repel scammers, how about some kind of verification into the forum... Such as house number, RS name, etc. Something scammers can't easily make up day after day. I think a home phone number woul dbe a good idea :p

Well for one, your sig says you don't touch the black market, so its fine for you :p

However, majority of the new members are repeat offenders who just scam. It will take you awhile to earn the rights to the black market forum, but it will be worth it.

What I'm trying to say, is I'm sure everyone would rather the odd new member go through a little work to gain access to the Black Market, as opposed to LOADS of scammers easily invading the black market.

In my opinion, the Sythe community has never been too good. However, there was a point when it was rather nice. This was around the time when Mitz and Bangtrain had staff positions. Since then, it has gone downhill. When compared to other communities like Kaits, it's always been the lesser. Though, Sythe has always aimed at a different member base than majority of the other large forums. It's always provided a place for the trading of Runescape accounts and gold. This is why the members continue to flock.

In terms of development of anything useful, there has been very little progression. I'm unable to think of anything that has kept up to the standard of what the members of Kaits/Mitb have produced. I have also noticed that anyone with slight knowledge simply follows the crowd. Multiple examples of this can be found in the 'Programming' section. Though there are many problems, it still reaches it's aim. Ad money + a market place.

It's kept this place open for many years. Why argue?
