Surgery for Wisdom Teeth? Who's had it?

I've had both my Wisdom teeth taken out, and then my Tonsils and Adenoids removed a month later - comparing the two, my second surgery was at least 10 times as painful. The thing is, at a dentist they juice you up on painkillers so much that the pain doesn't kick in until a day or so later, and as long as you follow the correct procedure right after the surgery and in the days following, pain should be very minimal - you'll feel extremely woozy and a bit sick regardless. One thing to remember (which will be hard right after the surgery I will admit) is to bite down on the gauze very hard when they place it on the area operated on to stem the bleeding, if you don't do it hard enough then you will get secondary bleeding a fair bit more than if you do it correctly.... and of course, the bleeding will bring more pain.

EDIT: Fudge, so it appears you've already had the surgery! I should have read the following posts before making such an extensive reply ;) I hope you did what I said regardless though? Fingers crossed your road to recovery is painless!

I was asleep when they put the gauze, then i didn't have much movement in my mouth when they took it out. But i assume they pressed it down pretty hard when they placed it in. I can't feel the blood pooling up too much in my mouth anymore so yeah.
