Well just went to the dentist only for them to tell me I need all four of my wisdom teeth removed because they are growing in at an angle. Meaning if they continue to grow in they will bend all my other teeth in at one point totally destroying my smile.

They haven't even grown in yet and the nerve is growing around them so they have to cut through my gums and be careful not to hit a nerve while removing them.

Has anyone here had their wisdoms removed? Was it very painful afterwards and for how long?

Oh my God it hurts having them pulled. I had to have only two pulled, but it hurt like hell. It hurt for like a week and then the pain slowly faded away. I found it hard to sleep. I had an ice pack near my face 24/7 as it was in the summer. Oh God, bad experience :p.

I had mine pulled but I was so drugged up I didn't feel anything.

All I can remember is waking up one day with blood all over my shirt because my stitches ripped.

They will most likely drug you up so much you wont feel a think.

It hurts like hell. My mouth was swollen for 1 week afterwards and tasted like banana flavoured toothpaste for ages after it is done. It doesn't really hurt when they take them out, just after they have been taken out. I felt really tired for like the next day, too.

    /wasn't trying to scare you

I was fortunate enough to be born without two of my wisdom teeth, but I have to get the other two pulled by the end of the month.

I've heard it hurts for a few days afterward, but they give you fun drugs/anesthesia for the actual procedure, and they don't wear off for several hours.

I don't know what's up with all these people, they must have really sensitive mouths, but it doesn't really hurt at all. They give you the option of anesthesia which you're going to want, and afterwards you'll feel somewhat nauseous, but it shouldn't hurt that much after the 1st or second day.

Beware though, after the surgery as the anesthesia is wearing off, you might leak out some stupid shit. My dad was with me and I started singing randomly and leaked out that most of my friends smoke weed and shit. I haven't done anything bad so nothing bad got leaked out, but just warning you, you might reveal some crap.

    YES. DO IT.

Then get yourself a cane and a suit and walk around your house being a faggot to everyone (while being hilarious).

I'll come over and we can pretend to be House together :D.

I had to get all 4 pulled out back in october. They were all still in the gums so they had to cut open my gums and pull them out. I woke up with a bruise on my chest because the (cant think of their title) had to put their knee on my chest and pull as hard as they could.

It looked like i had 4 golfballs in each cheek for 3 weeks and ate nothing but mashed potato's and drank ginger ale :).

I had fucking holes in my mouth for the longest time and shit would get stuck in there

I just had my wisdom teeth taken out about a week and a half ago. They might put you under for the operation, as it's somtimes considered surgery. They may not though, and in that case they'll give you laughing gas, and novocain for the duration of the surgery. The laughing gas is like smoking weed, only more intense. It makes you forget about the pain is the best way to discribe it. :D best legal high I've ever gotten. The week after sucks though... They will give you some vicodin or other painkillers.

Just don't worry about it, and you'll be fine.

Everyone has wisdom teeth, its whether they have to pull them, which they usually do.
