don't know if you noticed but jagex changed the look of the friends list about a week ago without saying anything on the updates

Yeah they could have at least brightened up the text.
It looks dull and like everyone mentioned, its hard to see.

They actually did say something on the main page.
Other changes:

You may also notice that the Friends and Ignore lists have changed as the pane inside them has got wider.

Several market values of items have been adjusted. Broken items, such as Woodcutting axes, now have a market value that differs from their fixed version. This difference is equal to the cost that a player would incur if they repaired it.

The Farming patch spirit will no longer visit players who've attained a Farming level of 16 or above when they're standing near a Farming patch.

I think the new friends list font is pretty cool, but that's just my opinion..maybe those with lesser good eyesight may be having troubles..I think they'll change the font again soon
