Best Friends vs. Girlfriend

If you know that she doesn't want to be your girlfriend don't push it on her; continue being her good friend.

B!!!!!!!!! once you go to college or job you wont ever see her again anyways so who gives a shit

B, without a doubt.

I had the same thing happen, didn't think she was interested in me. Years later I talked to her.. She said that she was in love with me at the time, and thought I wasn't interested in her.

She's now engaged to some other guy. That guy could have been me, if I had said something.

Well, I just went through this with my best friend, except it went the wrong way and became friends with benefits.

In all honesty, every situation is unique. You need to go with your gut feeling.

Yeah I know I probably should go with gut feeling. I'm not sure if I'd want friends with benefits though.

Probably because you didn't test her by asking for a kiss :p

Lol.

I definitely am seeing her even then...

That's the vibe I'm getting - I don't want to lose my chance.

Get drunk together and see if anything happens. If not, best friends or leave her brah.

It's occurred to me to do that. Drunk words are sober thoughts. She was drunk the other night but I had a couple other friends with me and I never got her alone like I usually do, so I didn't get to ask.

Using the truth serum AKA alcohol to find out what she thinks. nice.

Yup :p

even if you will see her go out with her you had to have seen friends or scrubs or some show like that the main people date on and off get and a bunch of fights but you will be fine in the end.

off topic: how did I recieve spam for that post??

Yeah I was thinking about that. If she's a real keeper she will still be my best friend even if she says no.

Honestly i feel this way about a girl, although i'm not certain if she just wants to stay friends.
Anyways if i really liked this person, then i would tell them how i feel with a risk of ruining the relationship. Better to know, and to stop fooling yourself.

True, better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Coming from my own experiences, it's up to you. I had two very good friends, which happened to be girls. Just recently I hooked up with one of them and got dumped shortly after, and she said she wanted to stay friends. Guess what? There is no going back. I can't talk to her the way I used to, nor can she.

Tl;dr: If you cherish your friendship don't, if you really like her risk it.

I think I'm going to tell her, while also telling her that it does not change our friendship no matter what.

I'm going to say I'm not pressuring her into anything, just wanted to let her know.

Anyone see something terribly wrong with that?

You're on the right path :) Don't mention that it won't change your relationship, it's a bit tactless and limiting. You should find the right moment and tell her, softly but surely, that you really like her, or love her, whichever feels best. Make sure to keep eye contact for at least the first few seconds and observe her reactions. If she likes you, it will be very clear in the first few seconds. I truly do wish you the best of luck.

If it doesn't turn out how you wanted it to, don't be frustrated. There will be other opportunities.

Choice A is the best IMO because then if she ever decides to want something more, you're there for her.

So you're saying DON'T say our relationship won't change? Why exactly is that? I'm saying that to ensure her that no matter what I'll always be her friend.

Nice to hear someone say that!

I'm aware sythe is not full of the jocks and such, but still interested in all of your opinions.

If you were best friends with a beautiful girl and you were pretty sure she only wanted to be best friends (and she likes you a lot, just doesn't want to go out or a relationship or anything) what would you do?

Would you:

A) Continue being best friends so as to not ruin the bond you already have
B) Try to get into a relationship with the risk of ruining the friendship
C) Stop being friends with her because it's too hard to be just friends
D) Other

I can give you the advice of continue to be there for her. Catch her when she falls, give her a shoulder to cry on if she needs one.

She will one day realize you are the best man in her life, and that your the one who was truly there, not just for the pussy, honest advice, that's as real as it gets.

So you're saying I should not tell her, just wait my time until she realizes it? Or should I tell her I like her and then still be the one that's always there for her.

Don't say it, because if she really is your friend, she'll want to stay a friend regardless of whether the pair of you work out. If she denies you she'll probably say it herself, if not then you can add it yourself, but don't do it while or right after telling her how you feel about her.

What you don't want to do is wait and do nothing. There's a limit to how long we can conceal feelings for other people, let it out at the right moment. Good luck ;)
