Phasing out SVU discussion

I believe a strong solution would be:

1. Removing SVU
2. Giving previous SVU holders a bonus $25 to their rank
3. Allow users to update their phone number through the UC in order to recover their accounts easier
4. Give reputable members (chosen at staff discretion) the opportunity to obtain SVU through more thorough methods (perhaps and address check via mail?) It might cost a bit, but I'm sure I'm not the only one willing to put up some money to receive the new SVU rank. Perhaps the people who previously had SVU and acquire the more thorough version could get a "legacy" version of SVU or some sort? Just a thought.

I honestly like theses ideas the best.

 

Why not just create a minirank and only give it to people who were already a svu. But keep the mini rank tradable. Everyone gets a mini rank so they are happy. No more miniranks of that one are incoming keeping it rare. And it's tradable so you can't base trust on it cuz sum1 could just have Boughton it afterwords. And for the people who don't give a shit about mini ranks well they can sell it and get some money back? I feel like this keeps literally everybody happy to an extent.

Giving more than 5-10$ donation credit would be absurd, a special minirank would be better.

 

I think there should just be a minirank for it just like there is for 2fa.

Even if we could filter all of that what's to stop you going on a $15 plan to get a number, rack up no bill then cancel.

Pay 15$ to get 5$ emblem. Seems like a great idea. Besides noone is going to go through all this hassle to get pretty much worthless label. SVU only shows that you are someway connected to Sythe and you are bit more trusted than a regular user due the fact that you are willing to donate forum some of your money. If you remove SVU, you need to come up with good solution. I am sure, there will be some people around begging back their sandwich money.

I've only gotten 1, not 2. Hopefully @Matthew handles the kinks. Giving 2 prizeboxes to a ton of people takes time.

I personally haven't gotten SVU for the exact reason that I didn't have a paypal setup and was never going to use fake info. As a result, I feel a legacy rank is unfair on those who, like me, were honest about it.

Same thing with prize boxes.

I'm kind of disappointed I paid for my SVU to add a layer of trust to my account. I understand the reasoning behind removing it because of scams going on, but giving me a "prizebox" doesn't really make up for the 5 dollars I paid. I literally had just gotten it too so I didn't even get any use out of it.... bought on June 19th and in less than 1 month (July 15th) you come up with a post removing it.....I wish I had know that in less than 1 month of buying something it would just get taken away. Maybe for those who got a good one year use out of it and then got a "prizebox" thing to make up for it doesn't mind that much but I had just paid for something and in 1 month it gets removed....
