    HERE COME THE LEAFS @uJesternWind

Hawks and Wild down 3-0 I never would have predicted that.

    HAHAHAH LETS FUCKIN GOOO

living in ottawa atm so finding a leafs game on tv was near impossible. all fucking worth it though...honestly the leafs' corsi keeps on going up throughout the series so it's giving me that slight hope that we can pull it off...? guess we'll wait for tomorrow night and see

also. did you witness that oilers smackdown tonight...I didn't watch but holy did half the team just not show up?

Been lovin the Leafs play. Great upset so far.

That oilers loss was brutal. Didn't even watch the 3rd. Looooong ways to go for this Oilers team, but I'm still just happy they made the playoffs. Gotta consider too, that Sharks team is still largely the same team that went to the cup finals last year. They're no slouch and Oil have to smarten up big time.

Rangers vs Pens/Caps would be great too. Lots of familiarity there.

Gonna be honest, I'm not going to watch a second of Predators/Blues. So boring to me. I'd much rather have seen Chicago/Minnesota.

hell of a series -- it seemed so winnable, and almost literally could not have been closer (5/6 OTs, shot counts, corsi, etc). i'll take my moral victories tomorrow but for now i'll be sad as fuck

Kind of bittersweet seeing Calgary get swept now, because Ducks are going to be the most well rested team and probably 100% healthy moving into the 2nd round, meanwhile Oil just grinded out six games against last year's Western Conference champs, and apparently half the team has the flu. Add onto Anaheim's home ice advantage and the fact that McDavid didn't draw a single fuckin penalty last series (yet got picked/hooked/slashed/etc all series) and you just know Kesler is going to be all over him and won't get called on a single thing, makes me think it'll take some sort of serious heroics for Oil to win this series.

That said, at the start of the season I would have been astounded if the Oil made the playoffs and scored just one goal, so everything past that has just been icing on the cake. im just happy the oil are getting some serious playoff experience under their belts, cause theyll need it moving forward into later years when they become a serious contender

Sometimes too much rest can be a bad thing. Hard to turn up the intensity after resting for so long. I still think that was the biggest reason the Blackhawks looked so shitty. Them taking off the last week and a half of the season ruined them. They thought they could just turn a switch back on and they couldn't. I think Oilers will give the Ducks all they can handle. They remind me of the young Stars team that took them to 6 when they were the one seed. Should have gone 7 but we blew a 4-2 lead with their net empty in the last 5 minutes and they won in OT. Oilers can totally take this.

Shockingly ive actually become a fan of the Leafs and the Habs this year. Used to hate both with conviction. Mainly the Habs tho tbh. I like Weber and Price a lot, and Pacioretty is good dude.

Also I wasnt too terribly far off on this prediction. I think he had like 19 pts in his last 10 for 100. Not bad.

The leafs have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. For an 8th seed to take the president's trophy winners to a game 6 with 5 of them being in OT, the future looks bright over there. As for my team, the LA Kings... Hopefully we can make the playoffs next season

I'm hoping Edmonton wins the cup this year. Long awaited and well deserved team after struggling since 2006 to have this chance again.

I think when Trotz went to shake Babcock's hand he said that the series will be the other way around in a couple years (hard to read lips on TV but coulda sworn I saw something like that)

That wouldn't surprise me at all. The Leafs shocked every single person on the Capitals. They knew it wasn't going to be easy but I guarantee Washington had no idea they were going to come out that hard, let alone have a series lead at one point as well. Gonna be a fun team to watch in a few years

How about Trotz' eyebrows on the bench all series long though haha :D

I feel like we're always saying that about the Maple Leafs though. The same was said after their 2013 collapse vs Boston.

The only thing harder than getting to be near elite is actually becoming elite. I'm experiencing it now with a couple of my teams, Celtics & Stars in particular.

Will be interesting to see if the Leafs can deliver on that potential & promise.

I agree with you about the Leafs. I think this time around now that they have a superstar, a couple franchise players, along with a goalie; they can build in the places that need work. I guess only time will tell :p
