But not every draft is going to have generational talent like Kane, Toews, Crosby, Stamkos, and what Mcdavid is supposed to be.

Not looking so bad right now, except the Blues are down, and the Penguins might lose this one and really be down.

 

i doubt he'd put out 100 points on any team. Not because of lack of skill, but nobody in the NHL even had 90 points this year. The most was Jamie Benn with 87. Crosby only had 81. Meanwhile in 05-06 (aka crosby's rookie year), SEVEN different players scored over 100 points, the most being Joe Thornton with 125. Crosby put up 102 that year.

so basically, if McDavid puts up a ~75 point season, that's basically equivalent to crosby's rookie season.

yeah the organization is a dumpster fire. this year they had ZERO depth at centre, two completely unreliable goaltenders (something they've struggled with big time for awhile now), and the situation on defense has been a disaster for awhile now.

however, they now have some solid D prospects, depth at C, just need a goalie and a big, strong, experienced d man (something like a Pronger, if only) and in theory they should be a solid team.

keep in mind the oilers have had a brutally mismanaged decade. they've had two unexperienced GM's who were hired because they were buddies with Kevin Lowe. with Bob nicholson essentially replacing Kevin Lowe and now supposedly the Bruin's old GM Peter Chiarelli replacing (?) MacTavish as GM they finally are getting their management together it looks like. Hard to do anything with first round picks if your management can't build a team around them.

Sad that I took the Nucks to go so far, but ah well what can you do at this point. Also I'm pretty bummed out about Habs-Sens. Knew that series was going to be close, but didn't expect it to end up 3-0 at one point for the Habs, from 3 close games. Now 2 games later it's 3-2 but I think they will sharpen up and close it out in 6.

 

Anyone watching the Van game tonight? Ridiculously pumped/nervous.
