    How to Quit Smoking.

I quit smoking in october 2013, I smoked for nearly 6 years, over 20 cigarettes per day + used other nicotine products while being inside the house/room. It was not very easy at all, I've smoked a few cigarettes since then and it is fucking disgusting. I have no idea how I could smoke and enjoy that shit for so long. Smoking caused another problem for me, I lost all my appetite to eat ( used to have a cigarette after each meal ) and that's pretty much when I also gave up on working out, before that I had been for over a year on a very strict diet + workout routine. I used to have really bad headaches back then and only a cigarette would make it feel better. Goodluck to all you smokers who are trying to quit.

The main thing people get attached to is having a cig in their hands or in their mouth, it's the same feeling with these new e cigs but i've read stuff that they could actually be worse for you then actual cigarettes.

This is a fine specimen of the mindset that you should have to quit smoking.
Thanks for the comment, I'm gonna compile a couple of similar ones like yours to use as examples, if you don't mind.

I tried ecigs and I preferred them over normal cigarettes.
But I don't think that they're the best when trying to quit, I think that they're just healthier alternatives, based on the current "facts".

    vape on!

    How to Quit Smoking.

Very nice guide, never smoked a cigarette in my life and this is the main reason why. Addiction. Been offered cigarettes quite a few times but I know if I do it once, I will most likely do it again. This would be my advice to others who haven't started smoking already, don't start. haha. Good luck to others.

Or if you live in a place where the climat is cold during the winter, take a shower and go out while still wet, getting a really fucking sore is the key. If your throat is sore as fuck you dont want to smoke any cigarettes.

Based on my experience you must cold turkey, meaning completely cut it off and take your mind off of it.

It is very difficult because you will become one angry mother fucker for a week or two without the nicotine.

    Best of luck!

    How to Quit Smoking.

People claim cigarettes are more psychically addicting, than mentally, but I'd have to disagree.

Though, the longest I've smoked cigarettes was for a 2-3 month period, and this was a few times where I went on a 'cigarette binge' if you want to call it (lol), and I never felt any physical withdraws. Now, I can imagine it that over time, after a few years, that it is probably a lot worse, but honestly, how bad can it be? I'm sure you might get huge headaches the first few days, but I really don't think it can be THAT bad.

I did smoke blunts for about 3-5 years, and it got to the point that I would crave smoking weed in a rello more than the weed itself. I have been told there's no nicotine in just a cigarillo, but as soon as I would take my first hit of the blunt, my headache would go away and I know it wasn't from the weed.

My grandma quit smoking after 40+ years, and he says he still craves one every once in awhile. I think what people crave most is a cigarette being their 'go-to' whenever something happened and they felt like they needed to relieve some stress.

    For instance:
1.) mom/girlfriend yells at you, smoke a cigarette
2.) pulled over by the cops, smoke a cigarette
3.) late on bills, smoke a cigarette

With that being said, I think the hardest part about 'quitting smoking' is finding something else to relieve the stress, rather than smoking a cigarette.

I could be wrong, this is all based off speculation and my own experiences. Like I said though, I haven't smoked for a long enough period of time, but I feel like I've smoked long enough to understand why people feel like they can't quit. I have quite a bit of knowledge regarding drug usage, depression, etc so this is just my 2 cents on the subject, and your mind is very powerful and can talk you in or out of something within seconds, but it's all up to the person. Some drugs are physically addicting, but the only drug you can die from withdraws is alcohol, so if you want to stop an addiction, it's usually more mental than anything. Please don't quote me on anything, as this is just a summary of the matter.

    How to Quit Smoking.

The withdrawal symptoms can be intense and they can last a pretty damn time.
For me, the symptom was depression from rejection from a member of the opposite sex. You know, that feeling you get when the girl you like rejected you, chose another man over you or broke up with you. I got through that.

But you're very right on the habitual part
for example, smoking is a very social thing in my country.
If you want to get to know somebody, you would ask if he would like to smoke a fag; As it's something that you two have in common, I'm guessing that it forms a connection between him and you and it's easier than popping random questions.

On the psychological part, I guess that it's all about finding better alternatives to cigarettes. For example, additional socializing skills would help lots if you wanted to get to know a person.

I also crave a cigarette every once in a while, that's why I have an electronic cigarette now. I'm currently vaping without any nicotine to at least simulate the experience
