Hey guys, I used to be a smoker. I started in high school because a lot of kids my age smoked and I didn't want to feel left out. I used to smoke over a pack a day and as a student, it was really killing my pockets. All my money went to buying cigarettes and it was pretty bad.

So here's how I quit.

Key to quitting: Guilt
- Everybody knows that smoking is very bad for your health. We've all been told of what happened, but I personally didn't think much about it until I saw actual pictures of evidence of what happened to smokers.

But still, even after all that, I always had cravings to smoke. This is how I got rid of that craving:

Drink a tall glass of ice-cold water
I don't know how this works but it just does. If I want a cigarette, I just drink very gold water and that craving just goes away. During my first few days, I drank water like I was a damn whale. I carried a liter of ice-water in a PET bottle during the first few days and always bought a bottle if I didn't have any.

That's it.
I reminded myself that smoking was bad.
I drank water.

That's how I quit.

If you're feeling skeptical about this, then go ahead and try it.
Wait until you get a craving for a cigarette and drink cold water and see what happens.

-End

Thank you for this guide. Personally I am not a smoker. But, my dad is. Actually got him lung cancer. I hope that people take this into account and try it.

:)

Thanks for this guide, I want my parents to stop smoking because I don't want them to die from cancer, I want them to live longer. Anyways I'm going to show my parents some pictures of bad condition lungs because of smoking and I will tell them to drink lots of water. How many months did you do this? and are you still craving for a cigarette or did you completely stop?
