Work out a payment plan within the first month, if not then pay a certain % 30 days after DNT / Unpaid Debt Rank. Failing to do so = ban.

yep exactly, so stop speaking for him. And let the people speak.

Anyways this is another reason why I told Sythe he needed to have a proper plan before he did any of this. *shrugs*

Not opposed to this as stated before especially taking into account income/amount owed/etc, but one clear thing is that there needs to be something where the end result is people getting their money back.

i like the idea of sensible monthly repayments, although it is more mod work to an extent; it is better than no repayments at all

Doesn't deserve to stay around if he isn't going to pay. @Sythe said all the people that are unbanned are planning to pay back. I think this suggestion by @Yousuckv2 is what @Sythe wants.

Just from reading the list, I can say with confidence that half if not more would not be paying off their debt moderately, causing them to get banned again. As of now, I think debtors are free to pay off bits of their debt whenever they feel like it. I see this changing in the future withstanding of this suggestion. I can't say with a straight face that users who owed money were unbanned based off the likelihood or potential of them paying off whatever it is that they owe. Many didn't make an effort to do so when they were banned. I would like to see something in place that is reasonable in approach when it comes to getting these users to pay off whatever it is they owe.

Now, reading all of this. I think sometimes, you guys look like a bunch of headless chickens running around. "fuck this scum, fuck that.. etc. You get the picture Focus on the facts, not on individual cases. I imagine this measure of unbaning scammer members and use this DNT is because Sythe needs more traffic, more activity around it's forums. Lets just remember that quantity, it is not quality. We can't pressure people to stay in a hostile environment filled with the pressure of having to pay something to be able to stay. The fact is that it just won't work, the majority of the infractors will just leave and that's the true.

IMO I dont want people who scammed lurking around the forums. But if there's no choice, well there are options to try to make it a better place. I dont have a really great, innovative idea on how to deal with the situation. asking for things like repaying back or quality stuff from this users, requires too much time or monitoring that could be used on other areas.

You should make rather like a perk system. If you pay certain % of your debt you get certain perks (Give ideas of this perks) I dont know if the system allows it. But hiding their miniranks and then giving to them again if they finish one of their perks. hiding their access to the suggestion forum (They should not be here in the first place) and giving it to them after the finish another perk etc. Giving access to pm TO STAFF ONLY after certain perk. etc. You get the idea. Coming back to sythe would require at least some effort and willigness to do so, instead of just making it an obligation.

Every argument has been used against Richard he just ignores a lot of it and still thinks this is a good idea.

Also someone else suggested getting stuff back after a certain amount of debt is paid back but quite frankly I think most of them are happy with what they already have so they won't be paying shit back to get any of the stuff they're missing out on. Likely the only way to get any repayment is to require some amount to be repaid each month or they'll be rebanned. If they don't like that and would rather just take a reban then bye, who needs them?

I'm on the same page like you. I don't want them here. But since they are, make it at least they are obligated on certain ways, to have access to certain content after they have payed certain amount. If they don't want to pay, they can just leave. As you said, Who needs them?

All ranks including donations and perks should be removed until they are pardoned. These people shouldn't even be allowed back and letting them retain their donation rank/ fun ranks promotes a level of trust which isn't there. Alternatively, let them keep their ranks but disable the option to display them publicly.

A repayment option won't work and its just a way to make the forum look cleaner but there are options to reduce the risks associated, such as karl scamming $2k that's high risk but all his ranks including ex-mod should be removed because his ex-mod status may imply a level of trust that isn't there. In addition, the scammed party should be agreeing to the unban if its possible to reach them, I would find it disrespectful to let some of these people back if they scammed me.

I'm not disagreeing with anything other than the fact that I doubt regaining some perks will actually make them pay. Most of them already have access to everything they wanted back anyways.
Trust me I agree that pretty much everything should be removed and they should more or less be nothing but floating names making posts in certain sections and that most of them shouldn't be allowed back in the first place.

I am strongly against this entire DNT thing other than the unbanning of certain people who shouldn't have been banned anyways (Richard seems to think this defines scammers and several other malicious people while I and many others do not.) Since DNT seems like it may be around for a bit before Richard inevitably realizes it was a terrible idea i'm simply suggesting changing it so it's not only more or a punishment but also so that some people can get their money back. I've talked to a few victims who are quite unhappy with the fact that they're now forced to be in the same community as the people who stole from them and even more so due to the fact that they haven't seen a dime back yet. I can almost guarantee the victims would not be approving any of these returns, at least from the ones i've talked to. But that isn't going to stop Richard from unbanning them, I promise you. Forcing them to repay a certain amount per month in order to retain their status as a DNT user and not be rebanned permanently shouldn't be too much of a hassle. If they don't like it? Bye, we don't need anyone on the site whose not willing to fix what they've done and think they deserve a free ride back.

No Truer words have been spoken, the unban/pardon system in place at the moment is quite sad with how inconsistent and political it is. Hopefully stricter guidelines will be put in place sooner rather than later.
