Donor Perk Suggestion

I know there was a suggestion made for 500+ Donors earlier that was denied because it was not possible to be implemented or something like that. But i'm proposing another perk.

$400/500 donor - Can have longer duration gif avatars

Could argue that it would make pages lag but there are not currently many 400/500 donors so as far as I can see it wouldn't create any noticeable issues

This is obviously one option and would be cool to see some other suggestions that could be added to the list of possibilities for 400/500+ donors

Not sure if this would be possible, another thing that could be added for 400/500 donors could be that they could have their donor ranks be a gif (the icons on either side of the coins) Probably has already been brought up though.

support, theres currently no real incentive to go above $200 donor except for a custom donor rank it seems.

What about being able to get a second major name change? as far as I'm aware you're only allowed one.

@ OP's suggestion I'm not really supporting this because it seems such a weird addition and shouldn't really be a perk. Either it should be allowed for everyone or not allowed at all.

This would make it so people can have high quality GIF avatars made by GFX artists.

Furthermore, why should this be allowed for everyone?

Do you know that 5 dollar donors receive larger images in general? How is this any different? Curious in your response to that.

If everyone could have this it would make pages take longer to load, which is why it would be walled off to anyone who has donated a good amount to support the site.

 

You've made your point there. I don't know, I'm not against it, it just feels weird.

 

I mean i'd just personally like to have a really well animated gif image that wouldnt have to be made extremely small just to be uploaded to sythe

I think this is a good donor perk, but something for like 25$ instead of such a large donation like 500$.

 

I like the idea personally and would therefore support it. As someone who plans to keep increasing their donor status all the way to $500, I feel like there aren't many additional perks to look forward to past $100/200. That being said, I'd only be making use of them because I could - it's not the deciding factor for me.

 

Think this would be a good incentive for people to want to donate more.

 

The perk itself is pretty basic. Avatar related perks are low tier and the amount should correlate.
