Incentivize the donor lounge

(not sure if it's a real word, but hey, who's counting)

Hey guys!

Small suggestion:
Make the donor lounge have similar permissions for guests and non-donors as let's say the Upper Spam forum.

That would mean:

• Guest can see the forum and latest post, but not enter nor post in the donor lounge.
• Non-donor can see the forum and latest post, but not enter nor post in the donor lounge.
• Donors will be able to see and post in the donor lounge like usual.

I believe this would give a better incentive for non-donors and guests to donate to the site.

This wouldn't work to promote activity/increase the amount of people donating.

Most of the Donors mainly browse/lurk the donor lounge, and already barely post. Allowing normal non Donors to view the lounge wouldn't be any different that what's already happening.

This I definitely disagree with.

I personally think it would discourage people wanting to donate, as everything in the Donor lounge is spam/trollfull anyway. It's fine as it is.


If anything, we should adapt this idea to Sypherz/Mohts suggestion of people being able to acquire points/tickets for posting within the donor lounge on different threads and in different ways, which can ultimately be exchanged for a minirank.

I can definitely see your point, that's why I held off a bit before posting this thread, but I still think the donor lounge shouldn't be anything other than it is now.
It's a nice place to hang and play some silly forum games, so why not?
What would non-donors expect from it?

 

They cant see what's in it, derp, only see how it appears on the main page

Why not? I guess every little bit counts, even if it only gains a couple donations.

 

Sounds simple enough and could persuade a few people to donate I think. People like being included. Go for it!

Yes, perhaps they can see what we have "going on", and want donate and we can have some more people to clean in the dicing arena?

 

This is the last reason you want new people in the dl. New donors get banned for not paying out dice debts SO often.

To be clear, I support the idea. People should be careful with those they're dealing with and should not trust people just because they're donors.

Sounds cool would prolly influence some people to donate but nothing more not really effective to me.

 

I kinda agree with Sellerman
Atm the donor lounge is pretty well... boring.
It's literally just the spam forum and sandbox put together.

I highly doubt a non-donor would donate just to be a part of it.
