Doesn't that mean that those imperfections made the Universe perfect for the existence of life as we know it? I'm assuming you know what the fined tuned Universe is?

No that is completely incorrect, life as we know it requires a carbon or similarily interacting element. Fine tuning a universe (for life) would mean that life would be abundant, however out of all the exoplanets that are confirmed a very small percentage can hold life. This universe is NOT fine tuned for life, what you are saying is the equivalent of saying a fine tuned radio can pick up its frequency 1% of the time approximately.

Now because of the gigantic nature of the universe that should allow other life and possibly other sapient species to form, however God had nothing to do with this, and sooner or later you will have to answer the infinite paradox of who created god instead of just dodging the point.

If we are capable of explaining with collaborating evidence from the very beginning of our universe until the present day, why should ANYTHING be accepted without a single shred of evidence as the correct answer?

This is making the assumption that only carbon based life forms can exist though.

Also, if we are to assume that the universe is infinite, then 1% is a huge amount that is possible. Then we run into the Fermi Paradox though, which leads into a lot of different discussions. I am still holding to the fact that one cannot prove or disprove the existence of God as there is no evidence to support either side.

No I clearly stated that carbon or similar composition based life forms such as silicon, its difficult to imagine anything else though because of the capacity for storage on silicon and hydrocarbons.

Assuming the universe is infinite doesn't mean anything either because there is a set amount of matter within it. Fermi paradox also isn't much of a paradox, because we are barely able to search for other existing planets and our technology is so underdeveloped. We barely have gazed at but a small backyard outside our local cluster and we expect to see results immediately, when we aren't even sure what we are looking for.

Also there should be no reason to disprove god, like everything else if you want your idea to become a theory and to be an accepted model, you have to come with proof that can be confirmed via repeatable observations or experiments. "God" has had over 3 milleniums to prove his existence and yet has utterly failed to do so, its a silly trivial fool's search that is nothing but a waste of resources.

Yes, I think god does exist, the reason why I believe so is I can't imagine how the whole world was created, how humans, animals were made because I don't believe in the scientific stuff.

How was God created then? Also, why do you pick non-evidence over evidence?

Well, I believe god is an infinite power who s capable of doing anything and believe he wasn't created, he's been there forever.

So, why does the Universe need to be created then, can it not have just caused itself like God? Also, what makes you believe what you just said?

I'm still curious to know what you're perspective on the origins of the Universe is, Malak. Or do you just believe we do not know yet?

No.

There's thousands of religions, all having different and similar God's. They contradict their beliefs, texts, etc. The believers themselves are huge hypocrites.

I think the idea of God has and still been only used as a weapon.

God is as real as Santa Claus. Its something said to keep us in line. Nothing more.

All religion has to go off is its own texts and blind faith.

Gandhi said that every religion is true but every religion has flaws. The existence or non-existence of a god does not depend solely on whether or not religion is flawed.

There needs to be a distinction, to avoid unintentional equivocation.

The Universe: The totality of all existence.
I believe existence itself has always existed.

The Universe: The cosmos; solar system > galaxy > supercluster > universe > ? (Missed a few lol)
I'm not 100% sure about this. I am skeptical of the Big Bang theory as it stands.

Well god is livin in every one of us,as we swear like oh my god, that proves he actually exists somehow.

I believe in a God, Supreme Being, Higher Power or whatever you want to call.

How is it that the Universe exists, and that everything was perfectly made?

You can say "how is it that the universe exists?" but you can also say "how is it that god exists?" which might I add there is no evidence of.
Also I wouldn't call the millions of people, animals, plants etc suffering every day "perfectly made".

But you don't believe our solar system, all the galaxies, the stars and planets, pulsars, everything we can observe and everything we haven't yet observed could be a part of something greater? Only a part of something, not really two separate existences, as I may have erroneously implied earlier in the thread, but something so inconceivably incredible that it's impossible for us to even grasp the idea of what it could be. One existence, many levels. I can't explain what began it, and I don't see how it's possible. All I can bring myself to accept is that there's more to it than we can know. We're kept from the truth (whatever it may be) by the same properties that created us (Earth and all its inhabitants) in the place. I'm going to assume you understand what I mean by this, but if you would like, I could elaborate.

Well god is living in every one of us,as we swear like oh my god, that proves he actually exists somehow.

All that suffering is mankind's fault

"Oh my god" is just a figure of speech. I say that and "Jesus Christ" all the time because that is what my dad used to scream when he got mad or did something stupid. It in no way shows that there is a god anymore than screaming fuck proves there is a fuck.

All that suffering is mankind's fault

Cancer. I'd rather not believe in a god than believe in the most evil thing that has ever existed that for some reason everyone says is perfectly good.

Mankind which apparently a magic guy in the sky created.
If I were to create something, say a robot. Then it went round and killed everybody, I'd be held responsible, not the robot.

I also agree with what SuF said, cancer and other diseases and infections are not caused by mankind. If God made these things then you're worshiping someone who makes living things suffer.

What do you mean by something greater? Our planet is part of something greater: the solar system. Our solar system is part of something greater: our solar interstellar neighbourhood. Existence cannot be part of anything greater, it is the end of all existence; all existents are contained within it.
Let's assume we have only discovered Only a part of something, not really two separate existences, as I may have erroneously implied earlier in the thread, but something so inconceivably incredible that it's impossible for us to even grasp the idea of what it could be.
Everything in nature is logical, so it is never impossible for us to grasp it. It is only difficult, and very difficult at that, but never impossible. Think about it, can you name one thing in nature that is illogical (something that violates the laws of logic)?

One existence, many levels. I can't explain what began it, and I don't see how it's possible. All I can bring myself to accept is that there's more to it than we can know.
What, in principle, can't we know?

We're kept from the truth (whatever it may be) by the same properties that created us (Earth and all its inhabitants) in the place.
The properties that 'created' Earth an all its inhabitants are located on the periodic table. How can we be kept from the truth by elements?

I'm going to assume you understand what I mean by this, but if you would like, I could elaborate.
I kind of understand what you're saying. The thing is, why can't there be a natural explanation? Why must there be a supernatural explanation?

Your rebuttals tend to be along the lines of: what if? This is all good and well for, but I prefer to think in terms of 'what is'. There are an infinite 'what ifs' out there, but there is only one 'what is'. I prefer to focus on the latter, and only deal with the former when there is strong evidence to support it being true.

I'll summarize everything down further. I believe in natural explanations, because we live in a natural universe, and the universe follows laws which are logical. I reject all claims without any evidence, and I reject anything that is illogical because.

I'm LAAAAAAAME
Well to put it plainly yes. The reason I believe that God exists is because i have grown up in a Christian family which have instilled in me the ideal that God does exist. Though there is no proof, i still have my beliefs that he does exist just like everyone else does. I'm not here to say that everyone should believe in God, seeing as there are multiple Gods in a plethora of religions, I'm stating my belief and would like to see what others have to say about this topic.
TL;DR I believe in God because that is what i have grown up with and still hold truly today.

(should be a quite interesting topic to read about)

I always find it odd how people claim It just because they grew up that way, if you grew up Muslim then you would be a Muslim if you believe that god exists because you were born a Christian.

But a robot isn't a sentient being. I just thought I would throw that out there. If robots were sentient then they would be held responsible because they have the capacity to understand.

@Malak There are illogical things in the natural universe. Look at a Black Hole - it is full of illogical happenings. Then there is the whole the laws of physics breaking down at the time of the Big Bang (if we are going in reverse, in relation to the events.), how do we decide what was pre-Big Bang when our universal standards aren't there? It is all illogical before that point because we have no logical standard for it, as of now.

If people believe in God, then fair enough. But to say he does exist is just stupid, just like saying God doesn't exist is stupid.
There is no proof of either theory, only beliefs.

You can not prove that your doorway is actually a doorway. You simply assume that it is until there is proof that it isn't a doorway. If you were to go through life simply saying I'm not going to believe anything since I can't prove it, you wouldn't be able to do anything. This same logic applies to god. You have to pick a side or you are just copping out.
