Do you want children?

I would love children, Preferably the "perfect family" 1 boy, 1 girl, but regardless of what i get i'll be happy

 

I mainly want children to "get it right". I want to the very best father I possibly can be. Growing up, I saw how productive and successful kids with involved parents can be.

 

I see it almost as pointless now a days, it's soely a social aspect instead of being for species survival and what's the point if yoy don't need to carry of the species due to overpopulation?

I basically see it as having to spend my hard earned money on something that I know is going to just be trouble, I was a dick bag to my parents growing up (not now of course) and I don't wanna put up with that shit. I get triggered from the usual idiots I deal with so having to come home everyday to this little asshole bitching about me buying mega blocks instead of Legos with throw me over the edge.

Plus I got places and people I want to see in my travels. Nobody got time for these little anchors weighing you down.

 

Yes I do, I feel that having children is literally what we are destined to do. We have the responsability to pass our genes to our offsprings, if you don't have children in your lifetime, you are the first person in ALL of your DNA ancestry to fail at reproducing, you should be ashamed, you stopped a family tree going back for thousands of years.

 

Exactly. Social standpoint, plus you don't need to personally have a family. Everyone now a days has brothers and sisters who can do the same thing. Enjoy your life and live for experiences while you can. I'm not saying you cant do anything with kids, but it does limit what you can do.

 

I want to graduate college and get a good paying job, then I'll go in on a house with my future spouse and once everything is in motion and I have the foundation made to give him/her the best life I can possibly give then of course I'll have child.

 

Yes if I ever get to a place of financial, social and emotional stability. Without those, you cannot properly nurture and dedicate yourself to another life. I also fear the political state of most of the western world, it is becoming very unsettled and maybe would not be the best era for a child to be growing up in.

 

Do I want a child currently. Absolutely not. I am 26 years old and am just starting a lucrative career. I do have a significant other of multiple years and she doesn't want one currently either.

Forget about the love, the good, the nurturing, etc. no matter what a baby is a negative investment. They cost money...and a lot of it. They cost time...and guess what... a lot of it. I have plenty of friends that were born when their parents were 18ish...my kid would be 8 years old right now...I can't even imagine what that would be like.

Now, don't get me wrong, a child is a blessing and I'll definitely have one of my own in the future, but not until both my partner and I are ready. You must be able to care for the child, love it, protect it and ensure its future. If you can't do that it is unfair to the child.

Considering a child? Just be smart about it, they aren't tools to make your relationship better, they are a person, a living thing that you are literally molding and shaping its future...that a lot of weight

 

At the moment I don't want kids, in the future? Most likely, but we'll see what the future has in store for me.

I definitely would love to have children one day, but definitely in the future. I'd like to be set financially that way I wouldn't have to struggle with finances, and then also miss out on my child's life due to working etc.

 

In the distant future yes, once I deem myself responsible enough to take care of them.

 

Seems like you have some pretty dark and skeptical thoughts about the world, which obviously, you are entitled to. However, there are people out there that don't view the world with such hate and misery, and one day hypothetically your kid could potentially be one of those people.

It's not selfish of you to think that, you believe what you want to believe. But just because you have that view, does not mean others/your hypothetical children would also have that view.

Precisely this. By having children you are putting someone else's life entirely in your hands. So if people do want to have children, I feel that they have to make sure they are in the best position possible to help enrich the child's life.

As for the political state of the world - every year there will always be a reason to fear for a child's development, so because of this I don't think that political situations would hinder my decision on whether to have children or not.

However, I also respect those that choose not to have children for whatever reason. It's a huge time and money investment, and we shouldn't shame those who don't feel like they would be able to provide the best possible care for their child. From that perspective, not having children is an almost selfless thing to do.

We are living in the best times possible, yet I read so many bitching about "this world is so bad". Makes me laugh honestly.

I'd want to say that this attitude is just evolution rooting out the scum from the gene pool, but in reality it's more like systematically rooting out the smart genes from the gene pool. Smart people are heavily taxed compaired to stupid people. Smart people want to be financially stable before having kids. Smart people want their children to have the best options available to them so they will have less children. Smart people understand that the resources are final. We need more smart people having kids. The stupid people are reproducing just fine, but it's the smart people paying the bills. Yay government!

Playing god seems fun and I also plan to use my godly powers to great life out of nothing.

 

I actually would love to have children, as a female I guess its in my nature to be motherly, even though I'm 20, soon to be 21.

Sadly though I don't expect it to happen soon, when studying is in the way, not having myself sorted in this life, and then expecting to put that burden on a newborn/child/another being is quiet a selfish thing to do, to that being.

Its not selfish to not want to have children, it's totally up to you to want or not want. Depending on your moral values, or view on life, you are your own person to decided whether you want to bring a child into this life.

What upsets me about wanting children is the life we live in, it really is terrible if you ask me no matter where you live, whether you're poor and have no food, or whether you live in USA/Europe etc. To me this world feels like it is slowly dying, with all the aspects that make this society as it is today, is tragic. Hence why I would feel more selfish having a child and bringing it to life, rather then not having one.

But hey that is not going to stop me from wanting children. Just gotta try make sure its a good upbringing for them

 

Yes I do. At my current state I guess not but definitely yes in the future.
