'Do not buy' RSN list

Can we poll this, and try to make it happen?

Practically everyone is underestimating how difficult this would be to hold-up and maintain. A poll is worthless if the suggestion itself isn't feasible.

IMO one of two things needs to happen:
1. Hands off, let it continue to operate as it is as you can "acquire sniped names legitimately." Handle investigations as usual and all that jazz.
2. Name sales gets heavily regulated. If a name is reported sniped with adequate proof, the name can no longer be sold on Sythe and if a Sythe user is found selling it, they are held responsible for it being sniped; as in, they either return the name to the owner that reported it, or refund the name for its valued amount. Once a refund is issued, the name is once again available. This would also include a "sniped names list."

#2 would result in some serious push-back from major name sellers amount to "why should we be accountable for something we didn't know about??", but would ideally stop people from dealing with known snipers and individuals whose names get sniped in getting refunds.

I am unaware of how toxic the name-sales section is, but if there's still a huge problem, someone should launch some investigations into sellers/buyers.

Appreciate the input! At this point I've took everyone's views on board and now somewhat disagree with the original sentiment of this thread. I'd probably change the suggestion to a list of names which are known to have a bad history and have people add to it as long as they have reasonable evidence, warning users to take caution or perhaps avoid dealing with such names. Whatever staff decide to implement I just hope we can begin to clear up what is at times an incredibly toxic market.
