[DENIED] Flagging users who have Multiple Scam Reports

Note: This suggestion is for user flagging people with multiple scam reports against them!

I feel this is a suggestion that hasn't been suggested yet, and therefore, I think this is an important suggestion.

The DNT rank was implemented, however the issue with the DNT rank is this, if a user acquires a DNT, there is only really one thread that can be attached to it - and when you click the DNT rank, it only brings you to a single thread.

In order to combat this, there should be an option which moderators can use, when a moderator uses this flag tool, it basically brings something that would look a bit like this:

Why this would be a good feature?

    -Makes trading significantly safer
-Allows new users to get scammed less frequently
-If a user decides to scamquit, a warning message which displays that they have multiple scam reports against them will make it harder for them to scam unsuspecting victims

The situation as to why this should be implemented is that if a user acquires a DNT mid-trade (after sending a confirmation PM), it would be harder for the said user to be able to scam if a warning message is added to their profile.

This is different to the suggestion for user history, as it would ONLY show to flagged profiles - this means users who hold multiple scam reports against them - new users do not always check the RaS sections, and some users don't even understand what DNT means - an example shown here:

Hopefully by adding a warning message - like what I've just shown above, this would make people less likely to be able to scam as a DNT user.

Let me know your thoughts, whether you agree or disagree, and why.

    While I support the change and have also had similar thoughts, I think if a user is either;

    a) Choosing to ignore a DNT and still trading, or
    b) Does not see the DNT

the flag above the DNT will not have a significant effect on whether they get scammed or not as it would be just as easy (I think you have to be trying pretty hard to not notice DNT) to not see the flag

I think it depends on how it's implemented. I mentioned that you could refresh the page to see the DNT however, if the warning message appears immediately after the user is flagged, then ultimately, the warning message would show before the DNT shows which would potentially prevent a scam.

As for a DNT, a DNT can be applied for a number of reasons. Some people may choose to trade a user with a DNT as their DNT reason may not directly relate to scamming. That is my reason for this suggestion. I know that shouldn't be the thought process of the rank, however the DNT was created in order to "protect users" rather than being seen as a punishment. This warning message however, would be the punishment.

DNT is pretty well laid out. We are quite literally telling you not to trade with this user.

I don't think your suggestion would help much

[DENIED] Flagging users who have Multiple Scam Reports

I went back and looked at previous reports and I have found examples of situations where DNT users have abused their DNT status (and some, in order to scam unsuspecting customers).

    #1 Zeroreach:
    zeroreach is a scammer

Then after being unbanned he then scammed this user:
    zeroreach is a scammer

Looks like the DNT status had no effect in this situation.

    #2 Sendit4province:
    Sendit4province trading while DNT

DNT again had no effect, this user attempted to use Sythe to facilitate his trade whilst being a DNT user & then tried to claim it was "offsite" so it didn't matter.

User was given a DNT for:
Sendit4Province scam on his rental (scamming)

    #3 Tekashi:
    Tekashi Scammed me 412m
(He received a DNT here - however, he was still able to manage to scam the people below):
    Scammer Tekashi
Tekashi Scammed 50 $ btc from dicing
    Tekashi scammed 160$ btc

The likelihood is, if a user is DNT, they're more likely to attempt to scam other people. As I mentioned in the above post, people are likely to PM 100 users at one time when they are attemping to scam vast amounts of money. There is already a trades alert section in the Discord however, not everyone on Sythe is in the discord, so I'm not sure why making an alert on someone's profile wouldn't be a good idea. DNT only links to one thread as I said, so it looks as if there is only a single report on them when there could in fact be more. Not everyone is going to check the RaS section and therefore new users are more likely to be scammed by people like this. As long as this stops people from getting scammed mid-trade, then it's still a benefit.

I could probably dig through more reports where users have been able to scam even with a DNT rank.

Personally, I doubt it will make a difference. Do Not Trade is as obvious as it can be, unless there's a larger icon. There's no difference if someone has multiple scam reports, it clearly tells you to not trade with them at all.

It'll be more of an administrative add-on/help. If a person knowingly trades a DNT'd user, he/she quite frankly, is pretty damn stupid and shouldnt be surprised at getting scammed. Nor should they get any sympathy.

The level of stupidity in some people can be quite astounding. "Oh a guy with DNT. Maybe i should believe his sobstory on him being framed and trade him 1B OSGP." Due to the fact that discord trading exists and people are stupid as hell, its pretty easy to evade a DNT and simply trade on discord.

I feel a much more effective suggestion is a mod-decided sythe discord ban to go along with the DNT as a precautionary measure. Plus it forces the DNT'd user to actually be compelled to remove his DNT sooner.

Bringing up Discord, there is already a channel in the Sythe Discord dedicated to tagging @everyone and warning people about others who are scamquitting.
I personally don't think Staff can do anything further except maybe posting on their profile which most do anyways.

I can understand what you mean completely about the filing all as 1 report, but at the same time we have the rules of "not posting in others disputes" which would essentially conflict.

If the rules were changed slightly if this sort of thing got adjusted, sure I don't see why this shouldn't pass as it would make it easier to log disputes and less clutter.

No support simply because people could create fake reports to the point someone gets flagged. If there's proof someone did something sketchy they would get a twc/dnt as long as there's valid proof. Just because there's reports on someone doesn't mean they're sketchy it could just be idiots reporting each other over stuff said in spam forums like we've seen recently.

This is true but I’m sure mods can sort this out as when they finish a scam report they can flag it themself, from Report a scammer

It'll be hard since there's idiots like gucci in the community who report the tiniest things even though they do it themselves. There's also the fact people will be complaining that some people are getting them and some aren't or mods aren't treating everyone the same.

    I second this.
I have seen countless fake report used to damage rep back in qemo and ipker days and they were used for sole purpose of damaging people reputations.

So what you're suggesting is.. That pardoned users should have their history held against them?
If that is what you're saying, no support. Most of the moderators here have even scammed at some point. And it would discourage people from pardoning. This has been brought up plenty of times.
    Basically.

If we notice several reports on a user we will DNT them. Generally speaking, these scams happen in quick succession (by design) and the additional victims don't check Sythe before trading.

Ideally, it would be great if we could prevent this from happening, but its up to the user to practice due caution when trading and check a users account status/report a scammer section.
