Community Development Team Suggestions & Feedback

Hopefully there isn't one, chucking out events like this takes all the fun away from it. One of the main reasons I don't bother. An event every fortnight or 3 weeks would be sufficient imo.

 

Making 1 event a week is the whole idea behind the weekly events though.

 

Thank you for that insight Sherlock Holmes, yeah and this is feedback thread hence why I gave my feedback. The cdt should be conservative with the amount of events they dish out or it just becomes stale. You participate in anything and everything where there's the possibility of a reward, so I don't expect you to understand.

 

You should've given the feedback at the beginning, when they were making the idea or when they were just starting out. There is a reward after the 52 weekly events, so disrupting it now and making it all different would mess that up.

 

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks like a really fun event. I just think the rewards should be significantly easier to get.

As of now, I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that you'll win the Master Ball reward, and the evolution tree reward. I'd also be willing to be that you'll be the only person that'll get the Milotic, Rayquaza, and Chansey miniranks.

This is essentially what happened with the last Pokemon event. You won all the miniranks and eventually sold them or diced them.

I believe you have good intentions, but as of now it's just looking like you're making this event for yourself in order to get more "juicy prizes". I would have a better perception of your true intentions if you were to relieve your participation from this event and tell others that you weren't allowed to win any of the prizes, but since you appear to be the most enthusiastic about the event, I doubt that'll happen.

tl;dr: Fun event, wrong implementation.

 

On the Pixelmon event Grave made I wasnt the only one who won miniranks there were other people as well who won the miniranks who were obtainable by everyone. It is true I won all limited miniranks though, Mew by a small bit and the Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise by far. Knowing there were plenty of people who didnt have a Minecraft account and couldnt be bothered to buy one for 20$(?) the competition I had wasnt very big though.

Knowing the above, the fact that quite a few people already showed interest in a PokeMMO event and the fact that some of the people interested are already testing out the game itself because the game itself attracts them I am certain quite a few people would get the Milotic, Rayquaza, and Chansey miniranks. See the post which you quoted for argumentation on why I think people should easily be able to win the prizes.

With the argument of "you'll win this event anyway, because you no-life every event" you could basically shut down all current events and all events for the future. Because why make events knowing that I'll no-life it anyway and win it regardless?
To respond in a serious matter, it isnt my fault that I win events. Other people have exactly the same chance at winning whatever event they enter as me or anyone else.

In regards to you saying that I am the only one enthusiastic about this event. My event suggestion post currently has 8 likes, which shows there are plenty of people interested. Some people have even posted on this very thread showing their interest in the event.

Also, you can keep saying that the event I made isnt the right way/wrong implementation. But how would you do it then? Ban me entirely from any event just so the other participants wont feel left out of the exclusive prizes in a particular event? The fact that BlackBlasses, Sneaky Fish5, Mootrucks or I suggested a particular event doesnt change anything then right?

 

The person making the event shouldn't be allowed to reap the rewards and participate in the event. That's my personal opinion. You know that you'll be getting the evolution tree and master ball with those requirements. Either give out more of them (have 3 sets of each) or exempt yourself from those two prizes.

Also, in response to your point about "why hold events if you no life them anyways": the current events don't take "no-lifing" to be won. They can be won through sheer skill with time not being a constraint - examples are battleship, pool, and the "io" games.

edit: i just want to make it clear that I won't be participating either way. I just wanted to give you some feedback about what other users may be feeling.

 

Hmm, I dont necessarily agree with that the person suggesting/making an event should be disqualified from the event or winning in it. I just checked a few CDT events and this is what I found:

Those were just the 3 top events of the community general section as well, could keep going like this for some time I assume.

But as I don't really mind too much, alright. I will disqualify myself from the Evolution Tree miniranks and from the #1 spot in the duel event.

 

The events you linked don't have a time constraint in order to win the games. Most are based on sheer skill such as the pool event.

Link me an event that has a requirement of spending a significant portion of your time in order to win the game.

Once again, my argument is that Sythe events that require TIME will not be popular because people just don't care enough to spend the time on events. I'm pretty sure you already know that which is why you know that you'll win the evolution tree and master ball minirank if this gets implemented.

You don't have to exclude yourself from the prizes if the prizes are rewarded in such a way that everyone has an equal footing to get them regardless of time spent. You could do this by having pokemon duels where you could lower the level requirement or maybe kept the types of Pokemon constant between duelers.

In short, my main argument is that time spent should never be a factor in Sythe events because from my observations, they don't usually have large user participation.

 

Your main points are the Evolution Tree and the Duel then, right? So if I would change the Evolution Tree to like "The first 3 people who catch 150 Pokemon get an evolution tree" would be better to you? The first 3 is taken from one of your earlier posts which mentions 3 winners would be better.

In regards to the duel portion of the event, there is another kind of Duel option I thought of as well, there is the option to scale everyone down to level 5 and fight eachother with just level 5 Pokemon. The current idea could be changed to that if wanted.

 

For the dueling option, the idea you just suggested was what I was going for when I said lower the requirements, so I'd agree with that.

For the evolution tree, the main reason I suggested increased the reward cap is because with rewards that are based on time, many people who join late won't have a chance at all since it's demotivating to be behind someone who has already caught a ton. Making it 3 sets or even 5 sets would encourage a lot more user participation. We have to remember that this is about user participation. If you're adamant on a time based reward such as "whoever catches the most Pokemon" just give evolution trees to the top three or four participants to encourage more user turnout.

But, yeah, the two options you stated was what I was going for. Even though I won't be playing, I can see these two fixes being a lot more healthier for community events that have a time aspect integrated within it.

 

What I am currently thinking of is changing the evolution tree one to something like:

• - Catch the Pokemon with the highest total of IV out of everyone. Your winning entry Pokemon, or one of its evolutions of your choice, will be your minirank prize. This prize will be available for the top 3 entries, a person can only win once.

Just because I am not sure how far your Pokemon knowledge goes. IV is a randomized stat that a Pokemon gets and which determines how strong a Pokemon is. The IV can range from 1-31.



The above would be an example of an entry. All IV's would be added up and the total amount of IV's would determine whether your entry won or not.

There already is a MOTM minirank. @Chloe has won an MOTM before, she has a star badge minirank award. Also the title is incorrect considering MOTM's have been done before, so it's not the first.

 

Yeah but the team voted for a new minirank which is why we went for the new one.

The title of the thread seems fine to me?

 

yeh gen made that clear, chloe wants her unique mini and she deserves it. I meant the thread title (on the post) considering MOTMs have happened, but I guess its a first with the new mini.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with members of the CDT team. At no point in time have I ever even had close to less than perfect experience with them, albeit sneakyfish is asleep sometimes.

I'd like to give a special thank you to @Sneaky Fish5 for helping me learn and answering all my questions, or at least finding me someone who could.

I'd like to also give a special thank you to @BlackBlasses He helps run the community development team beautifully.

Without the help of the members of the CDT I doubt I'd still be using Sythe today.

 

@Gen When are you taking blacks spot for leader?

Black isn't a good leader considering he has shown he is clearly abusing his powers and then acts like a child in response to me when in discord.


He first deletes my nomination post in the motm thread.
When restoring the post he scams half of the posts as it is now missing and he is holding it hostage.

He claims the part removed is "opinions". Yet I wrote there giving gratitude to 4-5 other people of the participation and efforts they have done, as I did last month, this is not an opinion this is recognition. The last part of my post was another recognition towards artur and a reason why I would not be voting for him as the cdt have not separated the dev teams/normal members and therefore the motm is biased towards favouritism of dev team members. This is also not an opinion, but it is fact.

My post made was my nomination, every part of it which I spent time on writing. If part of my nomination is removed then there is no point in the entirety of the post. I want my post restored. The leader is only putting cdt to shame by removing my post and then deleting and scamming half of it.

If my post was opinion then why haven't others posts been removed whom have either voted for multiple people, or given gratitude to others per month.

@Dave I'd also appreciate if a global+ can look into this abuse of power. Thanks.

P.s. I believe cdt needs a new leader and you should look into voting for another.

 

I agree that Blackblasses is a bad leader. Ignoring people you dont like while being the "community development leader"? Lol.

Also no one reads this thread and all you get in this thread is some stupid answer. I agree that we should be able to give feedback on the real thread, not in some trashbin subforum that no one cares about.
